Friendships are so important to dogs. Having good friends can completely change their lives, whether they are other pups, humans or even wild animals.
They are not picky when it comes to choosing their new buddies, and they are definitely good when it comes to charming anyone they meet.
I have seen other people randomly make friends with dogs in the park when they expect it the least. It’s a testament to their ability to socialize.
For this dog from California, making forever friends is the easiest thing in the world, and she certainly met someone special when she first came to visit her neighbor. Their friendship is truly amazing.
A Big Change For The Neighbor

After meeting Emmy for the first time, Linda Rose was completely shocked by how sweet this dog was. It was an instant friendship between the two of them.
Her dad, Russell Fenton, was so glad to see his beloved dog make such an amazing friend.
However, what surprised Linda was how Emmy would always run to her house in California and call her directly to come outside or open the door for her.
Fenton told The Dodo: “Emmy has been visiting Linda Rose every single day since January of 2024.”

Now, that is just commitment. Emmy tried her best to signal to Linda Rose that she was there, but the woman wasn’t able to hear her every time.
This was a problem, because Linda Rose wanted to be with her friend, but she had no idea when the dog would arrive, because it was almost always spontaneous.
Fenton said: “I noticed that Emmy would sneak over to Linda Rose’s house, but there were some days where Linda Rose didn’t know that she was there. So Emmy would come back home.”
A New Bell

Linda Rose had to fix this problem, so she upgraded her doorbell so that it was more dog friendly. And it worked like a charm.
Fenton continues by saying: “Emmy will sprint through the house, across the yard, across Linda Rose’s yard, and she will go to her front door, and she will press a nose-height doorbell with her nose until Linda Rose answers the door. And oftentimes, Emmy will press it multiple times if she feels Linda Rose is taking too long.”
Even though Emmy can be a little impatient, it’s only because she’s so excited to see her best friend. When Linda Rose opens the door, she just bolts inside the house to hug her friend.

What about Fenton? Well, he just likes to relax and wait outside his home while the two of them play. When Emmy has had her fun, she’ll just stroll back home.
Fenton notes that Emmy is incredibly friendly to everyone in the neighborhood, but she is best friends only with Linda Rose, and that is really special.
Linda Rose said: “Emmy is such a sweetheart, and I’m so proud she chose me to be her best friend. I absolutely love seeing Emmy every day.”
