We all know dogs have a knack for pulling pranks on humans, whether they mean to or not. Either way, the result is often hilarious.
It’s really up to us if we decide to get even and play a prank on them. Personally, I think it’s sometimes fair, but I’m not sure I could go through with it.
Cutting a treat in half and passing it off as two is a classic trick, and it might just be worth it to see if your dog falls for it.
But what this Texas dog owner did to his pup was truly funny. He had a guest come over, and the dog was thrilled—until something totally unexpected left her stunned.
What Do I Do Now?!
Jacob Aguilar was simply visiting his uncle after a peaceful trip to Hawaii. As he walked up to the door, the family’s Golden Retriever was there to greet him first.
As you’d expect, the dog was thrilled to see someone new and wasn’t quite sure how to handle it. She ran circles around Aguilar—then something surprising happened.
The front door shut, leaving the dog stuck outside. She stared at it in disbelief, clearly trying to understand what had just happened.
She stepped closer, waiting for someone to let her in, but nothing happened. Then she started circling the house, hoping someone might notice.
Still, no luck. Not long after that funny moment, Jacob and his uncle let her back inside. The betrayed look on her face said it all.
She couldn’t believe they would do that to her, but the two couldn’t stop laughing after seeing it all on the security footage.
Just A Little Joke
After the brief prank was over, Aguilar figured it would be even funnier to share the security clip on his TikTok channel, so others could enjoy it too.
One person commented: “Next time you come, just know she won’t be as happy to see you”
It’s very likely that the dog might not greet him quite as warmly after that little trick. Can you blame her?
Another person said: “But how long did it take until you guys noticed that she’s still outside and apologized to her?”
From the look on the Texas owner’s face, it seemed like this prank was completely planned to see how she’d react.
Lastly, somebody commented: “I sure hope you gave her all of the apologies and made it up to here with lots of love, treats, and a pup cup.”
After going through all that confusion, she definitely earned every single treat, and hopefully, her family gave her exactly that.
Still, it’s not often we see dogs as the target of a prank. It’s genuinely entertaining to watch how they react once they realize their favorite humans have pulled one over on them.
