Sweetest Dog From Idaho Was Finally Adopted So He Performed A Sweet Gesture For His New Owners

People underestimate just how much it means for any dog to go out after spending a long time cooped up in the shelter kennel.

Now, how do you think they feel after somebody finally adopts them? Most people think that dogs are not that aware, but they are.

They can tell when someone is leading them to a better life, and that means everything to them. You can see it in their behavior and happiness.

When this sweet pup was finally adopted from a shelter in Idaho, his life changed in an instant, so he did something really sweet for his new owners.

A Beautiful Gesture

When Jake and Cassie first decided to adopt a dog, they decided to take in Seiko, who was just incredible. He had been wishing for a chance to find a home for a very long time.

When that finally happened, you could just tell how happy he was. When he got into the car with his new mom and dad, he immediately jumped into her lap and gave her a big hug.

It was such a heartwarming gesture, but it showed how attached he was to them right from the beginning. They took him to their home in Idaho, where he was given a new life.

The couple noted how the first days were something really special. They could tell immediately that it was taking Seiko a while to adjust, but he was still very loving, and that part hadn’t changed.

He never went into places he was not supposed to, and he didn’t touch or break things around the house. He is so well-behaved that it surprised them.

He Was A Really Special Dog

Cassie noted that there was just something so special about the way Seiko loved his new owners.

It’s possible that rescue dogs are more affectionate in this way because they likely went through so much in the past and a prolonged stay in the shelter also changed them.

Jake and Cassie found out from his card at the shelter that he already had an owner before who surrendered him after just three days because he was ‘too big’ and also was not well-behaved in a car.

The two of them immediately knew that the part about his behavior was not true and they could see it every day.

Cassie noted that black dogs in general tend to have a harder time finding homes. It’s hard to pinpoint exactly why, but some people believe that it’s because it’s tougher to see their expressions and their color isn’t as interesting as that of other dogs.

One thing that drew them to Seiko was how he had a scar on his face, and the two of them also had one. They thought it was symbolic that this trio all had a scar.

Seiko’s A Different Dog Now

The couple did what they could to help him settle in, but it was tough without a yard, so they changed homes and now Seiko has a big yard he can run in.

When they first got him, Jake noted that he was really afraid of the dark, and he would often whine to his owners during the night.

They suspect that this was due to some kind of trauma in the past. However, as time went by, this fear also went away, and it showed just how safe and comfortable he felt with his new family.

He was also a part of their wedding and was even carrying the rings for the amazing couple.

It’s truly rare to see owners share a bond this deep with their dog, but it’s always beautiful to see. I wish them all the best.
