Redds, a sweet Pit Bull mix, knows this all too well.
During a dangerous Pennsylvania heatwave, Redds was found confined to a small metal crate with insufficient air holes, making his living conditions almost impossible. Living in an oven-like environment, Redds was barely surviving, begging for freedom.
Fortunately, his misery didn’t last long. Thanks to a dedicated team of rescuers, this pup embarked on a healing journey that ultimately led to a positive outcome!
He Barely Survived
When the Philly Bully Team from Pennsylvania learned about Redds’ situation, they didn’t waste time. Given Redds’ situation, they knew that every hour mattered.
When they finally arrived at the scene, they witnessed a shocking sight: Redds, peeking from a metal, oven-like, crate, with his paw pads burned from the hot floor.
On top of everything, Redds was extremely dehydrated and had heat exhaustion. His family kept him outside in the cage the whole time, with the sun directly beating down on the metal.
“We don’t know how he survived. His paw pads are burnt from standing on hot metal for days on end. But now, we’re able to give him the second chance he deserves,” the Pennsylvania rescue shared in the post.
In a heartbreaking video showcasing Redds’ living conditions, the Pennsylvania rescue showed Redds being rescued and given a second chance.
He was immediately transferred to the shelter, where he received all the care and medical attention needed.
Before long, Redds showed his true colors!
As it turned out, this Pittie mix was a genuinely affectionate and happy-go-lucky dog who craved love.
Once receiving it, he instantly blossomed into a brand-new pup. He showered everyone with tail wags and kisses, as if thanking them for finally letting him experience the life of joy and happiness.
However, what Redds really needed was someone who’d give him a forever home.
The Life He Truly Deserves
Not even two months after his rescue, the Pennsylvania rescue shared a wonderful update: Redds, the dog with such a heartbreaking past, has finally found his forever home.
Redds was adopted by a veterinarian who eagerly accepted the chance to care for him for the rest of his life. And now, thanks to his new momma, he gets to experience what life is truly about.
Redds enjoys a spacious yard, takes cozy naps in the house, does zoomies every day, and even visits his mom’s workplace with her.
Although he still has crate anxiety and doesn’t like being left alone, his mom is actively working on bringing his confidence back.
So far, Redds has been doing great. And he has no intention of slowing down any time soon!
