How can you ever say goodbye to your furry friend?
Even when you part ways and hug each other one last time, is there a part of you that eventually forgets all the heartbreak? These were the questions that I kept asking myself after my furry buddy, Jackie, crossed the rainbow bridge, leaving me sobbing.
Sadly, not everyone faces that emotional dilemma that prevents them from “forgetting.” Recently, my heart shattered again when I learned about a dog left in an empty home by his owners, with no food and water.
All alone and struggling to survive, the pup endured the entire week – and was on the verge of giving up. Fortunately, the rescuers showed up just in time!
It Was A Heartbreaking Sight

During her career, Suzette Hall, the founder of the rescue organization called Logan’s Legacy from Irvine, California, faced many heartbreaking situations. However, when she received a call about a dog left in an abandoned property, her heart sank again.
She immediately contacted her friend, Kym Marie, who went on the spot to look for the dog. The sight she found was absolutely devastating.
“He had almost given up, left behind after they moved away in the tiniest spot where no one could see him, his leash tied,” Hall stated in a Facebook post.

The pup was trying to sleep through his heartbreak, hoping to wake up from this nightmare. He was starving, as he didn’t eat anything or drink water for a whole week.
“It had been about a week since they moved out and it’s been so hot. They did not leave any food or water even. Kym gave him food and water for the first time in a week,” Hall added.
After receiving humane treatment for the first time in days, Hall and her friend devised a plan to get this poor pup to safety.
They slowly picked him up from the ground, encouraging him with kind words and gentle pats. Although he was still shocked to interact with unknown humans, the dog eventually gave in and settled into Hall’s car.
The next thing he knew was a safe ride towards a new life – and it felt so comfortable!
“We’re Going To Bring The Joy Back”

Hall melted when she saw the pup wagging his tail for the first time since the rescue.
“When I picked him up, he literally wiggled his little frail tail. Our hearts sunk. His gums were pale,” Hall wrote.
It was as if he knew that he was finally being saved. So, instead of standing guard, the pup completely relaxed next to Hall, putting all his trust into her.

After driving the pup to the veterinary clinic, Suzette set another goal for the pup: to help him bring his joy back.
“I got him to my vet as fast as I could and I told him we’re going to bring the Joy back,” the California rescuer concluded.
After a traumatic case of abandonment and a week with no one by his side, this sweet boy has finally received a second chance. There’s no doubt that, from now on, his days will be filled with nothing but love and cuddles!
