It’s baffling how often I see a case of a dog abandoned in a rural area or next to a road where they can easily end up causing an accident.
This type of behavior from other people not only endangers the dogs they dump in the area, but also other people who are driving on the road.
The dog could get scared and end up running through the road during traffic, and it could cause a serious accident.
None of this is the pup’s fault, but rather the neglectful owner who left him there to starve. This dog was in the same situation, but he was fortunate enough to find help early on.
A kind rescuer came to his aid and realized that the road had been fairly isolated, so he could stop and help the dog.
A Fortunate Rescue
When the rescuer first saw this dog, the pup had a confused look on his face. He wasn’t quite sure what had happened to him, but he was friendly to this person.
The man could just tell that the pup looked afraid, but he was there to help. He brought some food for the dog and he ate it.
While he was eating, the man spotted a collar around his neck and decided to attach a leash around it so he could take him to the car.
The rescuer tried to pet him and realized that he was really just a gentle dog. Judging by how fast he was eating his food, it’s certain that he had not eaten in a long time.
When the man tried to get the dog up and into his car, the dog just followed him. He was very sweet and obedient, and it was hard to imagine why someone would just abandon him like that.
He even understood how to get inside the car, so it was almost certain that he had been trained sometime in the past.
The pup gave one look to his rescuer. It looked like gratitude. This dog understood that he was now going to a safe place with this man.
An Inseparable Duo
After he was secured in the car, the man drove him to his home. He gave him some food again and the dog was still very hungry.
He realized that the pup was dirty, matted, and probably had injuries that needed to be looked at, so he drove him to the clinic for a checkup.
When the veterinarians examined him, the man was surprised to learn that the dog was mostly in good health. His fur needed grooming and they gave him a warm bath so he would be okay.
He would still need to receive his vaccinations, but that was easy to take care of. What mattered right then was that he was okay.
After he was discharged, his rescuer took him back home. As they spent more time together, the pup was starting to change.
He began to see his rescuer as his new owner. The dog was always really happy to see him and it was wholesome to see their bond.
While we don’t know what happens next in his story, or if he was adopted by his rescuer, I get the impression that the kind man will probably not let the dog go as the two of them are already best friends.
