Sorrowful Dog Didn’t Know What To Do After Being Left At Illinois Shelter By Her Owners Who Were Allergic

Through our stories we have talked about adoption many times and also highlighted the importance of learning all the facts before taking a dog into your home.

You want to be absolutely sure that the pup is the right fit for your family and that you actually want one, so your adorable furry companions don’t suffer a heartbreak down the line.

Too many times, people take in dogs even though they have no means to care for them, which inevitably ends up with the dog being abandoned.

This dog’s story also starts out in a similar manner and it’s just heartbreaking how she ended up in the shelter. The reason is shocking.

Her Owners Were Allergic

Rose was a truly sweet dog and one would believe that she would have no trouble ever finding loving owners who were willing to give her a home.

However, her story took a different turn when her new Illinois owners decided to abandon her because they were allergic and just ‘didn’t have the time’. They sent her to Aurora Animal Care and Control in Illinois.

This doesn’t give us much information and a lot of her story is still unknown, but one thing is clear; it’s truly heartbreaking how Rose’s story is unfolding.

The only thing that the rescuers knew was that she was very shy and she had a hard time adjusting to her kennel life.

After what she has been through, it’s no surprise, really. She is not a clingy dog, but she enjoys watching what other people are doing.

The rescuers felt hopeful after they found a new owner for her, only for that to quickly change. Rose was sent back to the shelter again because she did not ‘get along with the house dog’.

Rose’s Hope

This hit Rose pretty hard because she finally thought that she had found her forever home. She would withdraw even more.

The Illinois rescuers believed that the main cause of this was actually because potential adopters usually expect puppies to run to them and give them hugs and kisses.

This doesn’t account for the fact that some dogs are just naturally shy, and it takes them more time to relax around certain people.

Things were looking pretty gloomy for Rose, but then out of nowhere, a kind person came into the shelter and was willing to give her a chance.

Everything happened so suddenly, but the main point is: Rose was adopted and she is finally thriving in her new home.

After she was rejected so many times, it’s so heartwarming to finally see things looking up for her. She deserves it after everything she went through.

This girl just can’t catch a break. 💔 Rose’s first owner gave her up because they “didn’t have time.” But truthfully? She’s incredibly low-maintenance—calm, quiet, and content with a soft spot to nap and a little love. She was adopted briefly then returned, this time for not getting along with the house dog. But here at the shelter, she’s been nothing but peaceful and respectful with calm, polite dog friends. 🐕 We bring her into the office during the day to give her a break, because in the kennel, all she does is pace & search for a way out. Not to run—just to go home. 🏡🥺 She’s not needy. She’s not high-energy. She just doesn’t belong behind bars. If you’ve got a quiet home and a gentle heart, she’s been waiting just for you. Stop by during our adoption hours to meet this gentle soul. 💖 Adoption hours are 12 pm to 4 pm, Monday through Saturday. 📍600 S River St, Aurora, IL 60506 #adopt #rescue #savealife #shelterdog #AuroraAnimalCareAndControl #AuroraIL
