Whenever I see a dog sharing a wonderful moment with a delivery driver or a mailman, I wonder if our four-legged friends secretly live double lives as someone else’s pets. You know, like the ‘two owner’ kind of situation!
These little rituals are so sweet and so hauntingly adorable that they literally portray delivery people as dogs’ extended family members.
They show up at the exact same time, deliver a package, share a little playtime with the dog, leave a treat or two, and go on their way. In the meantime, what they create is a beautiful bond that lasts a long time.
A Texas UPS driver, Chris Basker, exemplifies this perfectly. He and his buddy, Max, have shared this sweet routine for a very long time, and recently, their adorable ‘hangouts’ have brightened the entire internet!
Hop On, Max
When Chris first saw Max hanging out in front of his truck, he didn’t know what to expect. Then, the dog approached his vehicle and slowly crawled inside as if he were up to something.
And he was, indeed! What Chris didn’t know was that Max just wanted to have a short cuddle session with him. The only problem was – he didn’t want to leave the vehicle after that at all.
Chris contacted his family, asking what to do. When they told him to just take him off the vehicle, he wasn’t sure how Max would react, but he did exactly that. The minute he did, Max gave him the biggest kiss on the face.
Ever since that moment, they created a ritual, and Max became Chris’ regular visitor on his daily routes.
Recently, this UPS driver decided to share the video of Max entering his vehicle for a treat. What he didn’t expect was for their sweet little encounter to take the internet by storm.
“This is my friend Max and our daily delivery routine,” the Texas driver wrote in the video.
Soon enough, heartwarming reactions started pouring in.
“You better than me, i would’ve took the dog with me,” one person wrote.
“Tell his parents Max is starting a part time job. Duh,” another commenter joked.
“You cannot go until you pay the treat toll,” the third one added.
Best Job Ever
One thing is for sure: Chris, the biggest dog lover and a proud owner of four dogs, has the best job ever! People watching his daily videos often wonder how he doesn’t get distracted by all the puppy love along the way.
Recently, Max shared a video of his other visitor, Sally, who became a mom. Now, the amount of love he receives from the entire furry family is beyond words!
“Hey everyone! Meet Sally! She is another one of my daily favorites! She is such a sweet girl and recently had 4 pups that I may or not, get in playtime with them,” Chris wrote.
Chris truly enjoys being an extended family member to all his dogs, and I’m sure he wouldn’t change a thing about it. I mean, would you? Being a dog lover and doing a job where you can meet all these new furry friends is a win-win situation if you ask me.
