He ended up alone on the street, unable to make sense of what had just happened.
All he could see was his owner’s car slowly fading out of sight.
Why are they leaving me here? Will they come back? Am I really all alone now?
What went through Cody’s mind at that moment is anyone’s guess, but one thing was obvious — he was frightened and crushed.
The look on his face said it all. Deep inside, he seemed to understand that the people he trusted most had left him behind, and this time, for good.
The Sadness In His Eyes Said Everything

Employees working nearby in an industrial zone in Southern California saw the whole thing happen. They couldn’t believe how anyone could do something so cruel.
The poor dog had been tossed out of a moving vehicle and left on the roadside. His owners drove off without a second glance, abandoning him in complete shock.
The workers didn’t hesitate. They contacted Suzette Hall, a seasoned rescuer and the founder of Logan’s Legacy, from Irvine, California.
“A little pocket pity, tossed out of a moving car yesterday at 6 P.M.. Employees in the industrial area saw it happen. His sad eyes told his whole story. And broke our hearts in half,” Hall stated in a Facebook post.
The dog was devastated. He curled up along the roadside like he was trying to block out what had just happened. Caught between heartbreak and the small hope that maybe his family would return.
But they never did.

Hall and her rescue team acted fast. They found the dog quickly, but he was too frightened and overwhelmed to follow them.
It was clear that he no longer trusted people. But Hall knew that soft voices and tempting treats could reach even the most shattered hearts.
She patiently worked to coax him into a humane trap. After some time, she finally succeeded and gave this sweet, sorrowful boy the first step toward a brand-new beginning.
*Cody Begins To Feel Hope Again

Earning the trust of a dog who’s been deeply hurt isn’t easy. But Hall and her incredible team managed to help this abandoned pup take the first step out of his fear.
They named him Cody, gave him a place to rest, and, most importantly, offered him hope. For the first time since he was left behind, Cody felt the warmth of a lap he could trust. He started believing in people again, and slowly, his broken heart began to heal.
Hall’s friend, Genavie, stepped in to foster Cody, offering him a soft bed and a second chance. Every head rub seemed to mean the world to him.
He felt so safe with Genavie that he stuck close to her side, unwilling to leave her even for a moment. Before long, his eyes that once carried so much sadness now sparkled with joy.
“She has mended his broken heart and turned his sad eyes into glowing stars,” Hall wrote in an update post.

For now, Cody is staying with his loving foster mom. He needs time to heal from the trauma of being left behind so cruelly.
Already, Cody’s heart is lighter, and it’s clear just how grateful he is for the second chance he’s been given. When he’s ready, there’s no doubt he’ll bring happiness to a family lucky enough to call him their own.
He really is the best boy.
