Chewy, only three months old, was discovered scared and trembling inside a restroom at the Las Vegas airport. At first, the woman who found him thought it was yet another cruel case of abandonment. But when she looked closer, she saw a folded note next to him that changed everything.

The letter read:
“Hi! I’m Chewy! My owner was in an abusive relationship and couldn’t afford me to get on the flight. She didn’t want to leave me with all her heart, but she had NO other option. My ex-boyfriend kicked my dog when we were fighting and he has a big knot on his head. He probably needs a vet. I love Chewy sooo much — please love and take care of him.”
It’s hard to imagine the fear and confusion Chewy must have felt. Yet, thanks to the kind woman who found him, his story didn’t end there.
A New Beginning
The Good Samaritan wasted no time and took Chewy straight to Connor and Millie’s Dog Rescue (CMDR), where he was welcomed with open arms. His journey to recovery began that very day.
He was first rushed to the ER, where vets confirmed he didn’t suffer from major injuries despite the lump on his head. Afterward, he was thoroughly examined at a local vet clinic. From nose to tail, Chewy received the care he needed, including vaccinations and tests to ensure he was healthy.
With a little nurturing and lots of love, this tiny Chihuahua bounced back quickly. His spirit returned, and soon his tail was wagging again.
Once he was stable, CMDR shared his story on Facebook, touching thousands of people’s hearts. Almost immediately, offers to adopt him poured in. It didn’t take long before Chewy found a forever home filled with the love and safety he had been missing.
