Dog Abandoned Along Busy California Road Gets A Second Chance Thanks To A Kindhearted Rescuer

Too often, I’ve seen cases where someone heartlessly leaves a dog behind, and it’s always heartbreaking to witness.

It’s enough to make anyone feel like the world can’t change, and that this kind of mistreatment will just keep happening.

But that’s not always true. Even when it’s hard to see past the sadness, there is still hope.

Every day, rescuers work hard to save as many dogs as they can and help them find homes. They’re making the world better, one pup at a time.

For Suzette Hall, it was just a regular day when she got a call about a dog that had been seen near a busy road and needed someone to step in.

She Didn’t Waste Time Getting To Him

After being dumped along a California street by his owner, the poor dog tried his best to stay alive, though danger was all around him.

There was a serious risk he could get hit if he tried to cross the road, and there was barely anything for him to eat.

Someone kind had given him some food, which helped him last a little longer, but he was clearly struggling. He had to sleep near trash bins, which was a heartbreaking sight.

Through it all, the dog stayed close by, hoping his owner might return for him, but that wasn’t going to happen.

It’s hard to understand how someone could do this to a helpless animal. He didn’t deserve any of it.

But that was about to change. Once Suzette Hall arrived and saw him, she knew she had to help.

Setting A Trap To Bring Him In

So, Hall came up with a plan and set up a humane trap.

A friend of hers went to get some food, placed it in a kennel, and waited nearby to see if the pup would go in.

The dog wasn’t sure if he could trust them, but his hunger got the better of him, and he couldn’t pass up the hot dogs they had set out.

So, he went into the trap for a bite, and they were finally able to secure him. Hall was relieved to see him safe at last.

She gently put him into her car, and they started their trip to the local shelter in California. Hall mentioned how lucky they were, as it began pouring rain not long after they left.

Once he got settled into his temporary spot, Hall knew he’d need to be checked by a vet as soon as possible.

Even though we don’t yet know what’s next, it’s safe to hope the dog is in good health and on his way to full recovery.

And while he’s under Suzette Hall’s care, there’s no doubt he’ll continue to improve and eventually find the loving home he truly deserves. I’m so thankful she found him.
