Let’s be honest… who hasn’t pretended to be under the weather at least once? Maybe it was to skip a dull class or avoid an awkward social event. In Rambo’s case, it was to seem more lovable and find a forever home!
Yes, that’s right!
This 10-year-old Great Pyrenees is the main trickster here, and his reason for pretending is just too heartwarming to overlook. Rambo faked being weak so he could land a caring home to spend his senior years in comfort.
Tricky Or Simply Adorable?

You might wonder how a dog could fool everyone at the shelter. The truth is, Rambo is quite the talented actor!
He arrived at the Humane Society of Monroe County alongside his brother, Diesel, after their family could no longer care for them. At 10 years old, Rambo’s familiar life fell apart.
Then came another surprise.
Diesel was adopted quickly, leaving Rambo alone.

The sadness Rambo and his caretakers felt was immense. He became withdrawn and barely moved without staggering, leading staff to believe he needed a hospice placement for his remaining time.
As his adoption chances dwindled, volunteer Morgan offered to foster Rambo in a calm, safe home.
But then, Rambo stunned everyone! Not only did he settle in perfectly, he started acting like a young pup again—running, jumping, and walking with ease.

“He is a 10 year old feeble old man who could hardly walk. We sent him home with two lovely ladies to live out the last of his life. But Rambo is a big, fat fibber! He jumped a fence, he chases balls and he plays! The shame,” the Michigan rescue wrote in the post.
Rambo’s caretakers realized they had been outwitted by his acting, and shelter followers found it hilarious!
“Look at his face.. he has no shame,” one person commented.
“The stubbornness of a Pyrenees is powerful lol! I love when hospice dogs bamboozle everyone,” another added.
Living His Golden Years With Joy

Rambo’s charming deception earned him the title of cuddlebug, and he couldn’t be happier. Finally, he has found a forever home.
Though a great actor, Rambo is genuinely a sweet dog who loves being around people.
“He loves everyone and is just the sweetest senior man,” the rescue stated in another post.
Thanks to Morgan’s decision to keep him, Rambo now enjoys a loving home where he can live out his golden years.

He loves chasing balls, playing with his family, going on walks, and cuddling—making him an ideal companion.
With a permanent home, Rambo no longer has to pretend. But who knows? He might have more tricks to entertain his fans.
