GSD Learns That Humans Can Be Gentle And It’s The Sweetest Thing Ever

GSD Learns That Humans Can Be Gentle And It’s The Sweetest Thing Ever

This video of a homeless German Shepherd dog crying like a human is probably the most heartbreaking thing that you’re gonna see today.

Rain, the stray GSD, was found on the streets of L.A., California, and she was extremely scared and traumatized. Luckily, with the help of a woman who was randomly passing by and heard her crying loudly, this poor girl was saved, and she found her new home successfully.

This is her story…

Rain Was Found Homeless And Scared, Crying Nonstop

Rain was found roaming the streets and crying extremely loudly. When Carey, the woman who initiated Rain’s rescue, heard her pitiful cry, she reacted immediately.

She contacted Hope For Paws – the animal rescue organization from Los Angeles, California. They responded in record time and came on the spot to provide help to this poor girl.

Loreta Frankonyte, the volunteer at HFP, approached Rain slowly with a piece of cheeseburger. Unfortunately, this stray dog was so traumatized that she hid from her in a corner.

But, step by step, with the gentle touch of a human, and a friendly approach, she somehow managed to pull her out and, together with Carey, put her in a crate.

Carey Was Her First Gentle Touch

According to the words of the HFP team, Rain was thankful to Carey for calling for help. She gravitated towards her and let her pet her right before she was taken to the hospital.

Even though she was untrustworthy and scared, she instinctively let the good people help her.

“I can’t imagine what caused her to be so fearful,” said one of the volunteers from the Hope For Paws organization.

She was immediately transported to a hospital, as she was in really bad shape.

“Her ears were eaten by flies… her coat was filthy,” said the HFP team.

The Road To Recovery

With the help of Loreta, Rain was slowly recovering. The first time she got to the center, Loreta gave her a nice, relaxing bath, which Rain enjoyed very much.

Little by little, she was building her confidence back. I guess all she needed was someone to be her friend. Luckily, she got all of that in just a couple of days…

The Lovejoy Foundation Handled Rain’s Adoption

After she was taken care of in the Hope For Paws animal rescue, The Lovejoy Foundation took over. They provided Rain with a foster who helped her socialize and learn some basic puppy manners.

This was not a long process, as in just a few days, her furever mom knocked on the door and made an inquiry about Rain!

Rain Was Allison Dunbar’s Love At First Sight

When Allison Dunbar, from Los Angeles, California, first saw Rain, it was love at first sight. She immediately knew that she must adopt Rain as soon as possible. And, so it happened!

Rain finally got a new, loving home and a forever friend! Allison, who already had a dog named Ernest, provided Rain with a nice, cozy home and a spacious back yard where she could freely run and frolic around.

From Now On – Sassy Pants Dunbar!

As Rain fully recovered faster than she expected, and became extremely sassy, Allison decided to change her name to Sassy Pants Dunbar.

Together with her new brother, Ernest, Sassy Pants is enjoying her days at the Dunbar residence.

Once a scared, shy puppy, Sassy Pants is now a confident, goofy girl that lives her best life!
