When living in rural areas of some parts of the U.S., it’s not that uncommon to see a wild animal walking around your home.
In fact, it happens quite often; it’s just that most people don’t really notice them unless they feel the animal poses a serious threat to them.
Like a coyote, for example. If people saw one in a small town, they would immediately react. While they are not that dangerous to humans, they are scary for our pets.
When this couple from South Carolina thought that a coyote followed them home, they rushed their dog inside, but only later learned the truth about what was going on.
It’s Not A Coyote
When the couple finally got home, their dog looked a bit worried, but so did her parents. They quickly took the dog inside the house, and the woman stayed behind to examine the ‘coyote’.
It didn’t take her long to see that this animal was really sweet and it looked like she just wanted friends. That’s when it dawned on her.
This was actually a dog. She just kind of resembled a coyote, but she was too sweet to be one. The owners, Tiffany and David realized that they had to help her somehow.
They immediately took her to a veterinary clinic in South Carolina and they were able to get a closer look. She had no microchip, which was a problem.
So, Tiffany went on social media and posted about the dog in case anyone knew whether she belonged to somebody.
Nobody reached out, so the woman took the dog back to her home. They kept her on the deck of their house, for starters, while they figured out what to do.
David gave her a bath to help her get clean. After that, the couple started to look at their options. They wanted her to have her own spot in the house, but it was difficult.
Her Future Is Now Certain
The couple already has two other dogs and they occupy the bedroom space with their beds, so they don’t want to accidentally cause tensions between the dogs.
Considering that they just met, it might take them a while to get used to each other. So, they decided to make a pillow fort in the living room where they all slept, and it was just amazing.
This sweet dog fit in just so well, and it was clear that she would get along with just about anybody. They named her Sprite.
She was also taken to the veterinarian later on to get spayed and neutered. Once that was taken care of, she was ready to be adopted by someone.
The couple is looking for anyone who is interested in adopting her, but they are not rushing it. They noted that she might just stay with them. Who knows what the future brings?
The family is going to take it slowly and they’ll see what turns up. It’s really heartwarming to see how Sprite found such amazing companions and I really hope she stays with Tiffany and David.
