Arkansas Couple Opened Their Door To A Sick Homeless Dog Who Refused To Leave

Every stray dreams of having a loving home and kind humans who will finally give them the affection they’ve been missing.

As they wander the streets alone, these pups silently hope to meet someone who will notice them and give them a chance at a better life.

The same was true for Turbo, a homeless dog who wished for happiness. When illness weakened him, he realized he couldn’t wait any longer. He set out to find people who might rescue him and offer him a place to belong.

One day, while wandering across a 200-acre property in Arkansas, Turbo spotted a family home and chose to wait on the porch. He seemed to know this was his only hope, as there were no other houses around.

Neither Zach nor his wife, Libby, were home at the time. When Zach returned, he was startled to find an unfamiliar figure sitting at the door.

At first, Zach couldn’t tell who the visitor was. But as he stepped closer, he saw a dog, tail wagging gently.

Right away, Zach noticed the dog was unwell.

“He was very dehydrated and he was kind of disoriented. I could tell his mobility was very compromised,” Zach said.

He quickly called Libby. The couple agreed there was no way they could leave this dog outside on his own. He had no one else.

They brought him inside and gave him the badly needed bath that marked the start of his care.

The couple rushed him to the vet. They were stunned to learn the dog, soon named Turbo, was only eight years old, since he looked much older. After receiving medication, he went home with them.

Turbo’s gratitude melted their hearts. He covered their hands in kisses as if to say thank you.

At first, Zach and Libby believed he must have a family and wanted to reunite him. Libby’s mom even shared his photo on Facebook, hoping someone would recognize him. When no one came forward, the couple decided to make him part of their lives.

Meeting their other dog, Ava, wasn’t smooth at first.

“She tried to give him a lot of sass at the beginning. But then, they finally had a bit of a battle over some chew toys and they became friendly after that,” Libby said.

Zach kept up with Turbo’s medication schedule, and soon, his progress was clear. He regained strength and began recovering quickly.

To their joy, Turbo started running again, even keeping pace with Ava.

Turbo’s new parents surrounded him with affection. The lovable dog adored their cuddles and belly rubs.

Zach and Libby couldn’t help but laugh at the way Turbo had appeared at their home in Arkansas, comparing it to a human waiting for a rental check-in.

“It really does seem like his whole attitude was the same way that a human would be if they booked an Airbnb and were waiting for you to open up. He’s like, ‘Oh, you guys are here! Great! I’ve been waiting!’ And what do you do with that? You’re just like, ‘You know what? Welcome to the family,’” Libby said.

They were completely smitten with him and treasure every moment with the sweet pup.

Knowing that Turbo has finally found the loving family who saved him brings nothing but joy. After years alone, he now has forever parents who adore him.
