Ohio Couple Adopted A ‘Husky’ Dog Only For A Shocking DNA Test To Reveal The Truth

When adopting a dog, it’s always important to be careful and to research all the information you need to know before signing the papers.

If you are looking for a specific breed, then you need to be extra careful so you don’t accidentally adopt a mixed breed pup, if that might become a problem for some reason.

Still, I think that whatever dog you adopt, it is going to treat you all the same. They are our adorable little companions and nothing can change that.

When this Ohio couple first took in their dog, she just looked like a husky, but it was clear from the beginning that there was more to her story, so they decided to find out.

Well, What Is She?

When Milly decided to adopt a second dog, she went to a shelter in Ohio and actually found a pup named Bess who seemed like a good fit.

She came during an adoption event only to learn from the staff that Bess’ entire litter had actually been adopted within 30 minutes, and she was the only one who hadn’t found a home yet.

So, Milly immediately took her in and their lives had changed completely. The main reason she adopted this beautiful dog is because she didn’t want her 6-year-old dog Ellie to be on her own.

Since Ellie was a victim of abuse, it helped that she had a friend like this in her life. Regarding Bess, she looked really peculiar.

It was clear that she looked like a Husky, but her owners wanted to know what she was for sure, so they did a DNA test on her.

Later, they figured out from a DNA swab that she was a 50 percent golden retriever and the rest was mostly husky and possibly border collie as well.

After learning this interesting bit of information, Milly went on Reddit to share her findings with other people online, and many people were fascinated by it.

One person commented: “Super cute, I imagine she will be quite a handful when reaching her raptor phase.

Milly noted that she is already slowly getting there, and the only thing I can say is that I wish the best of luck to her when Bess reaches that stage.

Another person said: “She honestly looks like you painted a golden retriever lol. Is she a talker like a husky?

To this, Milly responded that she does not behave like a typical husky and that she is generally more quiet. Howling is just not something that she likes doing.

Lastly, somebody commented: “Keep us updated on the personality. Beautiful dog, it will be interesting to say the least on how their distinct and very different personalities will come out

That’s what I am also curious about. Milly already said that she does not howl, but what about personality traits? It’ll be interesting to see how she changes as she grows up.

Nevertheless, surprises like this can definitely impact the owners, but only in a good way. They will have to adapt to her behavior, but I am sure that Bessy is just the sweetest dog ever.
