Life can change drastically with just one choice.
When Randi first saw Bunny’s photo, she immediately felt a bond. After one decision, Bunny, a mostly blind shelter dog from rural Texas, became a cherished family member.
Bunny began enjoying things she had never known before, like a cozy home and cuddles from her owner. Even more impressive, this blind pup proved her brilliance by living life like a professional athlete!
From Homeless To Playing Fetch

Bunny’s journey is truly inspiring!
Born with Collie Eye Anomaly, a hereditary developmental condition, Bunny was abandoned as a puppy at a Texas shelter and faced nearly no chance of adoption.
Thanks to a rescue group, Bunny flew across the country to meet Randi, her new mom. It wasn’t long before Bunny experienced love for the first time, and her true personality began to emerge.

They visited the beach, enjoyed the ocean, took long walks, and played together.
Randi quickly realized Bunny could navigate life perfectly. Bunny used her nose and her mom’s guidance to find the ball on the ground and soon became great at it.
“She uses the wind, what’s under her feet, smells, sounds, there’s so many things she’s using to navigate. She can map something out and remember it in a couple rounds of doing something,” her mom told GeoBeats Animals.
Bunny’s fetching skills became so sharp she could even retrieve balls from the ocean.
Her keen sense of smell and hearing gave her advantages other dogs don’t have.
“Part of why Bunny loves playing fetch in the water is she knows she has the advantage over other dogs,” Randi explained in an Instagram post.
Mom’s Little Princess

Bunny truly loves her life. Born blind, she’s learned that being different doesn’t define her. She swims, runs, and meets new friends every day, never letting her condition hold her back.
Besides fetch, Bunny’s favorite thing is bike rides. Her mom puts her in a basket on the bike where Bunny can safely smell and listen to everything at the right pace.
“Bunny loves riding the bike. Being blind makes sticking her head out the car window super scary, but riding the bike is the perfect speed to smell and listen to things,” Randi wrote on Instagram.

People who meet Bunny find it hard to believe she’s actually blind. Her spirit is unstoppable!
Aside from her blindness and occasional seizures treated by her mom, Bunny’s life is all about discovering new things. She lives fully, embracing the world’s beauty with her whole heart, just because she can!
