Arkansas Rescuers Tried To Save Dog Living In Deserted House Only To Realize She Was Guarding Something

When they most needed love and tenderness from their family, a mama dog and her puppies were heartlessly abandoned at an empty house in Arkansas.

Terrified for the safety of her little ones, the mother dog quickly guided them under the old house and tried to shield them there.

With a heavy heart, she curled around her babies, helpless yet determined to give them comfort.
As the tiny pups pressed against her for warmth, the mama found the strength to keep going. She knew she had to protect them at all costs.

Joining Forces In Saving The Dog Family

When experienced animal rescuer Shyan Noah noticed a Facebook post about the abandoned canine family, she wasted no time in rushing out to help.

Other rescuers had arrived before her and tried to bring the dogs to safety, but the frightened mama refused to let anyone near.

While her attention was elsewhere, the team managed to secure a few of her pups, but the mama remained wary.

When Noah finally reached the scene, she was met with the heartbreaking sight of the exhausted dog, sadness written across her face.

Noah decided the only way forward was patience. She sat beside the dog, offered her food, and gently spoke words of comfort.

Even though she needed help desperately, the mama couldn’t yet bring herself to trust humans with her precious babies.

But Noah persisted. She began hand-feeding her, and little by little, the mother started to soften.

The rescuer’s heart lifted when the dog finally allowed her a gentle touch.

I was able to gain Mama’s trust enough to let me feed her out of my hand and give her short little pets,” Noah told The Dodo.

Since the mama was still wary, the rescuers used a humane trap to bring her to safety. Relief swept over them when she was finally secure.

With the mother safe, attention shifted back to the pups.

The babies, just as frightened as their mom, continued hiding beneath the house, avoiding capture for days.

At last, rescuers managed to scoop them up, breathing a sigh of relief.

The pups were covered in fleas and ticks, showing signs of long neglect.

At first, the little ones lashed out in fear, defensive and hesitant with humans. But soon, the rescuers won them over with food and affection.

Slowly, the babies relaxed, soaking up the cuddles and beginning to feel safe.

One rescuer fell in love with the mama dog and gave her the forever home she so deeply deserved.

Meanwhile, Noah took the puppies into her care as a foster. They quickly began to thrive and heal.

Playful and full of energy, the mischievous pups kept their foster family busy and laughing.

“[They] are happy, healthy little escape artists. They love squeezing through the gates of their foster room and into the rest of the house with everyone else,” Noah added.

NOVASTAR RESCUE in Dover, Arkansas, promised to help the puppies find permanent homes.

With their sweet spirits and newfound confidence, it’s certain they will win over families eager to give them all the love they missed.
