An Unexpected Sighting
It was just an ordinary drive until Molly saw him. There, standing alone by a highway sign in Alabama, was a dog in desperate need of help.
Despite warnings from others who told her to “just leave the dog, he’s a pit bull,” Molly couldn’t look away.

But Molly remained determined. Polo completed a stray hold, was scanned for a microchip, received his vaccines, and was neutered while transport was arranged.
The Reunion
When the transport truck finally arrived in Massachusetts, Molly was overjoyed.
As soon as Polo stepped off, he was peaceful and instantly glued himself to her side.

They even have “grandpa days” together, taking day trips to pet-friendly stores and walking around.
A Gentle Soul
Polo’s gentle nature extends beyond just his grandpa. He also spent a lot of time with Molly’s 89-year-old grandmother in her memory care unit.
Despite being a dog who normally loves to climb into laps, he seemed to understand she was frail.
Instead of jumping up, he would quietly lay on the floor next to her, content just to be touching something with a heartbeat.
Grateful Every Day
Even introducing Polo to the other four dogs went smoother than expected. He submissively crawled toward them to make himself seem smaller and more approachable.
Today, Polo simply loves life. He is happy to follow along and just be part of a family.
