For most people who welcome a puppy, it usually means having just one or two dogs in the house. But sometimes, life has a completely different plan.
In certain cases, people adopt a sweet pup only to later realize that she is carrying babies.
That was exactly the surprise that awaited the woman in this story, who had no idea her new companion was already expecting.
A Craigslist Listing Leads To A New Beginning
While browsing through Craigslist, a woman named Faith came across an eye-catching post.
Someone had listed a Chihuahua under the description: “Adorable female Chihuahua puppy”.
Faith thought the listing seemed a little too perfect and wondered why the pup’s previous owner had let her go.
Despite her doubts, she decided to take the chance. She adopted the Chihuahua and brought her to her new home in Oregon.
That was when the truth came out. The pup, now named Stacey, was actually pregnant and would soon be a mom.
Although it was an unexpected revelation, Faith felt nothing but joy and was determined to help Stacey and her babies.
A Family Bigger Than Expected
At first, Faith assumed Stacey might only be carrying a couple of puppies. But soon, the surprise grew much bigger.
Stacey gave birth to five healthy babies: four males and one female. Faith stayed close by her side, making sure that the little family was safe and cared for.
The first few weeks were challenging, but Faith did everything she could to ensure Stacey and her puppies thrived. She wanted to make sure the babies were strong enough before they found new homes.
Eventually, the day arrived for the puppies to begin new lives with loving families.
Faith chose to keep one of the puppies and named her Coco. As for the others, she carefully found forever homes for them, all with friends nearby in Oregon.
This meant the siblings could still see each other often and even enjoy playdates when their owners were away.
Even though Faith had initial worries about adopting Stacey, the outcome turned out better than she could have imagined. Today, both Stacey and her puppies are living happy and wonderful lives.
