Vega’s journey wasn’t easy. The two-year-old pup once had a family who let her down and abandoned her on the streets of Oklahoma.
When she was rescued and admitted to a shelter, Vega thought that her life would get better.
Due to her incredibly sweet character, she became a shelter volunteer’s favorite.
Sadly, the shelter Vega was in was overcrowded, and her number was placed on the euthanasia list.
Just when the doggo thought her situation was hopeless, a wonderful foster stepped in, offering to take her home.
A rescue called We’re OK Foundation heard about Vega and pulled her from the shelter. The doggo’s life was saved, but she still had many obstacles on her path.
Vega’s Heart Was Broken
Vega started a new life in a foster home where she received a ton of love.
She became more hopeful about her future and dreamed about the day when she would find a forever family.
Shortly afterward, Vega was adopted. She was excited about her new beginning and was convinced that she had found her happy ending.
That’s what everyone at the rescue thought, too. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case.
Eleven days after she was adopted, her family contacted Vega’s foster family, saying that they would return her because she was ‘inconvenient.’
The family explained that they decided to move out, and they couldn’t take Vega with them.
They expected that Vega’s foster would take her in again, but there was an issue.
The pup’s previous foster couldn’t welcome Vega back to their home, and she was returned to the rescue.
As soon as Kayla Winrow, a foster mom in Oklahoma City, learned about Vega’s situation, she and her husband promised to care for the pup as long as she needed it.
A Dream That Became Reality

Upon her arrival at her new foster home, Vega was confused and didn’t know what had happened to her family and why they had left her.
Winrow held her in her arms and comforted her.
She gave Vega a lot of love, and the pup settled in pretty quickly. She dazzled her foster mom with her affectionate disposition.
Wishing to increase Vega’s exposure and increase her chances of getting adopted, Winrow made a video of the dog as she held her in her arms. She posted it on her TikTok account.
“How do we explain to her that it’s not her fault her owner didn’t want her anymore?” the caption read.
Winrow’s followers were sad because Vega faced a major heartbreak, but everyone believed that she would find her humans.
Thankfully, that was exactly what happened! The pup caught the eye of a great family who took her home, promising to love her to the moon and back.
Vega was a picture of happiness when she realized that she had found her family at last! She will never be rejected again.
