Left behind in the freezing cold, a heartbroken dog named Elsa needed a miracle. When one woman finally stopped to help, she discovered a gentle soul desperate for love.
Left Out In The Cold

It was a bitterly cold day in Texas when a sweet dog found herself completely abandoned. She had been dumped by the very people she trusted.
To make matters worse, they wouldn’t even let her into their car to escape the freezing weather. She was left stranded, confused, and shivering in the harsh elements.
You could tell just by looking at her that she was in a lot of pain. Frozen in place, the poor dog seemed to have no idea what to do next.
Stepping Up To Help

When one kindhearted woman saw the dog’s plight, her heart immediately broke. She was sick of seeing nobody step in to help dogs who were being dumped in her community.
Even though she was incredibly busy at work that day, she knew instantly that she had to intervene. She couldn’t just leave the dog out in the freezing weather.
Approaching the frightened animal, she gently coaxed her to safety. “Come on, it’s OK,” she reassured the shivering pup, determined to change her life.
A Trip To The Emergency Room

The first priority was getting the dog out of the cold and into medical care. The rescuer loaded her up and immediately headed to the emergency room.
Given everything the dog had just been through, her demeanor was incredibly surprising. She was unbelievably sweet and calm during the entire car ride.
Instead of being fearful or defensive, she simply accepted the help she was being offered. It was the first sign of the gentle spirit hiding beneath her sadness.
Welcome Home, Miss Elsa

After getting checked out, it was time for the dog to start a new chapter in a warm foster home. Her rescuer officially named her Miss Elsa.
The goal was to slowly get Elsa acclimated to being in a safe, comfortable house. Despite being incredibly skinny, Elsa had some surprising weight to her frame.
She was finally out of the elements, but the emotional toll of her abandonment was obvious. You could see in her eyes just how deeply sad she was.
Looking Deep Into Her Soul

Elsa didn’t want to run around or play; she just wanted comfort. All she wanted to do was lay in her rescuer’s lap and look up into her eyes.
It felt as though the sweet dog was looking deep into her soul, silently saying thank you. She craved the physical touch and warmth that she had been denied.
Those quiet moments of connection helped build a foundation of trust. Elsa was beginning to realize that she was finally safe.
Meeting The Little Ones

As Elsa settled in, her foster mom had one major concern about the household dynamic. She needed to know if Elsa would be aggressive or nervous around children.
At the time, the rescuer’s kids were just three and one years old. Toddlers have a lot of energy, which can sometimes be overwhelming for a newly rescued dog.
But Elsa quickly put all of those worries to rest. She proved to be incredibly sweet and gentle with the little ones.
Healing A Broken Heart

Elsa had come into the home completely broken, yet she was entirely willing to trust again. Her bond with the children became a beautiful part of her recovery.
Her foster mom suspected that Elsa might have been missing babies of her own. Being able to take care of the two kids, protect them, and love them seemed to heal a part of Elsa’s soul.
Despite everything she had been through, she chose to trust this family. She poured all of her remaining love into watching over her new tiny friends.
A Beautiful Turning Point

As time passed, Elsa’s personality slowly began to blossom. She would come lay down in her foster mom’s lap, roll over, and just stretch out comfortably.
Then came the moment that changed everything. Elsa rolled onto her back and wagged her tail for the very first time.
Seeing that simple gesture of joy gave her foster mom so much hope. It was the ultimate proof that Elsa was going to be OK and that she could fully trust people again.
A Completely Different Dog

Today, you can easily tell how much of a different dog Elsa has become. The sad, frozen pup from the freezing weather is now a distant memory.
She now has the energy to play, drop toys, and act like a normal, happy dog. The light has finally returned to her eyes.
Her transformation is a testament to what a little bit of warmth and patience can do. She is finally happy and thriving.
Ready For Her Forever Home

With her spirit fully healed, Elsa is now ready to find her forever home. Her foster family already has three dogs of their own, and they want to keep their door open to take in other dogs in the future.
Elsa’s journey from a freezing, dumped dog to a loving family companion is complete. Now, she just needs a family to call her own.
She would do absolutely great with someone who is open and willing to give her love. As her foster mom knows firsthand, Elsa will give that love right back to you, tenfold.
