A Heartbreaking Sighting
When Lex left Florida for a girls’ trip to Bocas del Toro, she expected a relaxing vacation in the sun.
Instead, her path crossed with a stray dog who was in unimaginably bad condition.
The poor pup was severely neglected, and her skin was hot to the touch. As one rescuer later described it, she looked like a dog who had “come from hell.”

Estrella’s journey didn’t end in Panama.
Fast forward four years later, and Estrella officially made the journey to the U.S. to live with Lex permanently.
