Every dog has their own unique personality and favorite pastimes. For some, it’s chasing a tennis ball for hours, while others prefer a long nap in a sunny patch on the floor.

But for a dog named Ollie, his greatest joy in life is a bit more unconventional.

Since he was just a pup experiencing his very first winter, Ollie has been absolutely obsessed with pushing things across the ground.

The Master of Ice Chunks

Ollie’s absolute favorite thing to push is a giant chunk of ice. He has literally been sliding icy blocks across the yard since his first snowy season.

His owner lovingly describes it as his "lifelong hobby."

He will put his paws down and drive the frozen blocks forward with all his might, completely focused on his frosty mission.

Watching Ollie engage in his favorite activity is a guaranteed mood booster. His owner admits that it makes them incredibly happy just to see him so joyful.

While he works, Ollie will often throw his head back in pure delight.

He wears a goofy grin on his face the entire time he’s playing, showing just how much he loves his special game.

The Ultimate Reward

Of course, pushing ice around is hard work for a dog. Eventually, the physical exertion and the temptation of the ice itself catch up to him.

After sliding his frozen prize around the yard for a while, Ollie finally decides it’s time for a break.

As his owner notes with a laugh, eventually he decides, "OK, I just want to eat it now. I’m done."

Expanding His Repertoire

While ice is clearly his favorite medium, Ollie isn’t a one-trick dog. He likes to push almost anything he can get a good grip on.

As long as the object can move smoothly across the ground, Ollie is ready to turn it into a toy.

His owner has watched him happily push Frisbees, sticks, and various dog toys across the yard.

Ollie’s pushing skills have even translated to some more advanced equipment. He doesn’t just stick to natural objects or standard pet toys.

When given the chance, Ollie will even push a skateboard.

With an encouraging "Get it, Ollie!" from his owner, he happily glides the board along the pavement.

Off-Season Practice

Because Ollie loves his icy hobby so much, the warmer months used to present a bit of a problem. But Ollie doesn’t let a lack of snow stop his training.

This isn’t just a winter activity for him; it’s something he diligently practices in the off-season, too.

To keep him happy, his dedicated owner decided to get creative and bring the winter fun into the warmer months.

Engineering the Perfect Block

His owner started experimenting with different ways to freeze ice blocks specifically for Ollie to push when it wasn’t naturally occurring.

However, creating the perfect artificial ice chunk came with a learning curve.

They quickly figured out that the homemade ice block needed to have enough traction for his paws, or else he would just slip right off of it.

A Hobby That Won’t Melt Away

Through trial and error, they managed to create the perfect off-season ice blocks for Ollie’s entertainment.

Pushing ice is a passion that is never going to go away for this sweet dog. He absolutely loves it, and his owner loves seeing him thrive.

They plan to keep trying new things to bring him more joy, ensuring Ollie will always have something fun to push forward.
