The Unexpected Health Scare
Pink drove more than an hour to pick up Bobbie, excited to welcome her into her California home. Having researched the breed thoroughly, she thought she knew what to expect.

Bobbie accidentally swallowed a bee, causing Pink to panic. She rushed her to the nearest vet, fearing it was an emergency.
At the clinic, the vet confirmed that the bee sting wasn’t the main issue. It was only the beginning.
Bobbie was diagnosed with giardia, an infection caused by contaminated water.
Left untreated, giardia can cause serious complications. Fortunately, the vet immediately started her on medication to address the condition.
A Series Of Unexpected Challenges
The bee incident and the giardia treatment cost Pink about $800. But the financial challenges didn’t end there.
Bobbie was soon diagnosed with a broken toe that required attention. To make matters worse, complications arose from her spay surgery. Her stitches burst, requiring another trip to the vet.
As time passed, it became clear that Bobbie’s health needed extra care. She could only tolerate a specialized diet of lamb, chicken, salmon, duck, quail eggs, and various vegetables. Beef and turkey were off the menu as they had previously made her sick.
Between specialized food and ongoing vet visits, the costs began to add up quickly. Pink estimated that she had spent over $10,000 caring for Bobbie.
However, despite the financial burden, she never regretted her decision. To her, Bobbie is worth every penny.

Despite all the challenges, Pink says she would do it all again without hesitation. Bobbie isn’t just her dog; she’s family.
