California Pup Refuses To Miss A Day With Her Favorite Neighbor And It Is Pure Gold

Friendships mean everything to dogs. A true companion can light up their whole world, whether that friend is another pup, a human, or even some wild little creature they happen to meet along the way.

They are not bothered by looks or differences. They just gravitate toward whoever makes them feel safe, seen, and happy, and somehow they manage to win over nearly everyone they come across.

A lot of people know exactly how that kind of bond begins. A dog walks up, a connection sparks, and suddenly life feels a bit sweeter. For one pup in California, building those kinds of lasting friendships seems to come effortlessly. From the very first visit to her neighbor’s house, it was clear that something special had started.

Heartwarming Routine Forms

When Linda Rose first met Emmy, she was immediately taken aback by the dog’s affectionate nature. Their bond formed instantly, surprising them both in the best way.

Emmy’s dad, Russell Fenton, loved seeing his dog connect so strongly with someone new.

What Linda did not anticipate was how often Emmy would run straight to her door in California and call for her loudly, hoping she would come outside or let her in.

Fenton told The Dodo: “Emmy has been visiting Linda Rose every single day since January of 2024.”

The dedication was impressive, but it came with one issue. Emmy tried her best to alert Linda each time she arrived, yet Linda could not always hear her.

This created a problem, since Linda never wanted to miss a visit, but Emmy tended to show up unannounced.

Fenton explained: “I noticed that Emmy would sneak over to Linda Rose’s house, but there were some days where Linda Rose didn’t know that she was there. So Emmy would come back home.”

A Clever Solution For A Daily Visitor

Linda decided something had to be done. She upgraded her doorbell to make it easier for Emmy to signal her arrival. The new setup worked perfectly.

Fenton continued: “Emmy will sprint through the house, across the yard, across Linda Rose’s yard, and she will go to her front door, and she will press a nose-height doorbell with her nose until Linda Rose answers the door. And oftentimes, Emmy will press it multiple times if she feels Linda Rose is taking too long.”

Her impatience came from pure excitement. As soon as Linda opened the door, Emmy would rush inside as if she had been waiting all day for that moment.

Meanwhile, Fenton was happy to let the two enjoy their time together. He would wait outside his home, knowing Emmy would return once she had soaked up enough attention from her best friend.

Although Emmy greets everyone in the neighborhood with kindness, her strongest bond remains with Linda Rose.

Linda shared: “Emmy is such a sweetheart, and I’m so proud she chose me to be her best friend. I absolutely love seeing Emmy every day.”
