California Pregnant Dog Wanders The Neighborhood Carrying A Story No One Wanted Told

California Pregnant Dog Wanders The Neighborhood Carrying A Story No One Wanted Told

Exploitative breeding operations too often leave dogs in heartbreaking situations, cast aside the moment they stop generating money, with little concern for their safety or well-being.

These animals are pushed into neglect and abandonment, left to navigate dangerous conditions while depending entirely on luck or the kindness of strangers to survive.

Solari, a pregnant mother dog, was one of them. When her puppies didn’t sell, her breeders simply forced her out.

Suddenly exposed to harsh weather and constant hunger, Solari and the puppies she carried had no shelter, no support, and no care from the people who had once profited from her.

A Loving Home Opens Its Doors

Lisa and Grant, a couple from Victorville, California, noticed Solari wandering through their neighborhood while pregnant and immediately decided to intervene.

They knew her history; she had been kept by their neighbors, backyard breeders, and discarded once she was no longer lucrative.

Lisa told We Love Animals, “Our neighbors are backyard breeders and so this is a dog that they used to breed, but I guess last time they tried to sell the puppies and nobody wanted them, so they decided that they were going to just kick her out of their yard by boarding up the back fence and just let her roam the neighborhood.”

They didn’t show her a shred of care or compassion.

“She wanders the neighborhood, she gets attached by other dogs, and she doesn’t have a home”, said Lisa.

Weeks of observing Solari’s aimless roaming and her frequent stops near their home convinced the couple to take her in. A few days later, Solari delivered eight tiny, precious puppies.

Mama Solari Discovers Love And Care

Now responsible for a whole family, Lisa and Grant reached out to local shelters, but none had space.

Determined, they committed to raising Solari and her litter, providing the nurturing environment they deserved. Solari became a devoted mother, revealing her prior deprivation of affection and care.

Grant explained, “You could tell she wanted the attention, but she had had such a hard time asking for it from her previous ‘owners’. But since we’ve taken her in, she’s absolutely a different dog.”

For the first time, Solari enjoyed toys, learned commands, and experienced the comforts of being a true family pet. She thrived, becoming joyful and intelligent, while her puppies grew strong and playful.

Tragically, one puppy passed at four days old, but the remaining pups flourished under her care.

“The adoption process has been really fun. We actually received a tremendous amount of support and want to adopt mama dog too. She’s a great mom, but she finally gets to have her rest. She gets to just be a dog for the rest of her life,” Lisa said.

The couple received over 100 adoption applications in a single day, ensuring every pup went to a responsible, loving home.

A Fresh Start For Solari And Her Puppies

Despite the difficult beginning, Solari and her puppies found the happy ending they deserved

Every pup was placed into a safe home, and the couple kept one of the boys, now named Eru. Inspired, Lisa and Grant established Sun Village Animal Rescue in Victorville, California, dedicating themselves to giving dogs like Solari a second chance.

“Solari will forever hold a special place in our heart. Without her, none of this would have been possible. She was a God-given gift that we were tasked to nurture and love with our whole hearts. We wouldn’t change anything for the world,” it states on the rescue’s website

Their compassion has already saved and placed many more dogs into loving homes through their nonprofit.
