I believe that nothing happens by chance because destiny places us exactly where we need to be.
One such encounter can change our lives completely and lead us to the path of happiness.
That’s what happened to a family who arrived at the cemetery to visit the grave of their beloved cat. While remembering their cat, something unusual happened.
A furry stranger appeared and left the family stunned.
A Visit Filled With Grief

The couple, Fifi Furrha and Kareem Khalil, arrived at a pet cemetery in Los Angeles, California, with their toddler son. They were visiting the grave of their cat, Skye, who had crossed the rainbow bridge in August 2025.
Since Halloween was approaching, the family decided to place light-up pumpkins and plastic spiders near the headstone. It was their way to honor Skye.
While they were decorating the grave, an orange-and-white cat appeared out of the blue.

She walked straight up, rubbing against their legs as if she knew them.
The family was surprised. The cat clung to them as if she could sense their sadness.
“We just felt like it was a sign,” Furrha told The Dodo.
The cat stayed close to them and comforted them. The family felt better.
“We didn’t have to think about our grief for a moment,” she said. “We weren’t sad.”
The cat lingered as they finished decorating. She was relaxed, and she played nearby.
“She was so friendly,” Khalil told The Dodo. “She was so good with our kid, too. She just wanted to play.”
Since the cat was so friendly and laid-back, the family wondered whether she already had a home.

After the family returned home, they couldn’t stop thinking about the cat.
Khalil contacted the cemetery to learn more about the mysterious cat.
A worker explained that the cat didn’t belong there, but no one knew her backstory or where she came from. Khalil wanted to find out if the cat had a family, so he ordered a chip reader.
“We can’t take the cat unless we actually know,” he said.
Before the reader arrived, Khalil received an unexpected call.
A rescuer from the Long Beach Spay & Neuter Foundation contacted him, saying that she met the same cat days earlier at the cemetery.

The cat had comforted her during her own moment of loss. While she was there, the rescuer talked to a groundskeeper who told her something heartbreaking. He had seen when the cat’s owner dumped her.
The rescuer offered to help the cat, saying, “We were both meant to be part of this cat’s story.”
Thanks to her, the cat was treated for fleas, ear mites, dehydration, and malnutrition.
The cat responded well to the treatment and was ready for adoption.
In early November of 2025, Furrha and Khalil adopted her.
The cat loved her new home in California. It seemed like she had always lived there. She was over the moon.

The family still misses Skye, but they found comfort in opening their hearts again.
“I think this was a gift,” Furrha said. “She needed a home, and we needed that closure. We needed to feel happy again. I think we were meant to be in her life, and she was meant to be a part of our family.”
This story proves once more that there are no coincidences in life.
