There is truly something magical about watching dogs play in the snow. They feel happy and carefree as they enjoy themselves just like children.
However, there are dogs who have never experienced snow, and witnessing their reaction to it for the first time is wonderful.
Winston and Benny never knew that winter could be so much fun because they lived in Florida.
But after they moved north, they were about to feel the joy of winter and snow.
A Winter Wonderland For Winston And Benny

The two one-year-old Golden Retrievers, Winston and Benny, grew up in Saint Petersburg, Florida. Because of the summer heat often, their family couldn’t take them outside as much as they wanted.
Things changed when their owners moved to Madison, New Jersey in November, 2025.
The dogs had no idea that this year they would experience a real winter and its magic.
On Sunday, December 14th, the most anticipated moment finally arrived.
Winston and Benny went outside and felt snow under their paws for the first time.
Their owner, 24 year old Ellie Schraft, captured their reaction on video.
The Golden Retrievers were running and jumping. They didn’t know what this strange cold ground was, but they loved it.

Schraft loved watching them play.
“It was tough this summer living in such heat in Florida. We could barely even take them on walks since it was like 100 degrees outside every day,” she said in an interview.
The snow felt like freedom for Winston and Benny. They wagged their tails with excitement as they jumped in the snow.
A Viral Moment

Moving to New Jersey opened up a whole new world for the dogs. They enjoyed colder weather and the snow gave them something new to explore.
“They have loved being in the colder weather,” Schraft shared. “Seeing them play outside in the snow has been adorable.”
This was also the first time the family lived in a home with a yard.
Winston and Benny could run freely and chase each other. They stayed outside for almost an hour, relishing every moment.

The video of their first snowfall went viral on TikTok.
The caption read, “I have been waiting for this day,” reflecting how long the moment had been anticipated.
Schraft didn’t expect so many people t react to the dogs’ video.
“I’m always so focused on creating clever, trendy dog content,” she said, “but this time we had so many comments saying how the video made their day.”
Viewers were delighted with the dogs’ reactions to snow, and they shared their own stories.
One comment stood out. “Florida boys said this sand is weird and cold, but we like it!”
When Winston and Benny returned inside, they were tired but happy. It was a morning they would never forget.
Fortunately, this was the beginning of their snow adventures because winter had only just started.
