Florida Woman Was Surprised To Discover An Unexpected Passenger Hidden In A Cardboard Box

Abandoned pets feel confused and scared when they realize that they are all alone.

Heartbreakingly, many animals are left in places where they have no chance of fending for themselves. All they can do is wait and hope that someone will notice them soon.

A tiny, helpless animal hidden in a cardboard box at First Ladies Farm and Sanctuary in Riverview, Florida, waited, too.

The box that he was in was placed among other routine deliveries.

Luckily, the truth about it would soon be revealed.

A Routine Delivery Reveals A Hidden Passenger

First Ladies Farm and Sanctuary is a rescue for cats and domestic birds who need help finding new homes.

Its director and vice-president, Claudia E. White, noticed the boxes at the front gate and could not imagine that a tiny creature was hidden among them.

Thinking that they were deliveries from Amazon and Chewy, White collected the boxes and placed them in the back of her car.

The packages stayed in her vehicle overnight.

In the morning, White drove a group of rescue cats to the vet for their checkups. After she dropped the cats off, she began her drive home.

At that moment, she heard a meow coming from the rear of her car. She was stunned because all the cats were already at the clinic.

A Frightened Kitten Found In A Cardboard Box

White pulled over right away and opened the trunk.

As she looked at the boxes, she noticed that one of them had tiny holes poked in the top.

Her heart raced as she lifted the flaps.

White was devastated to discover a little black kitten. He looked sad and confused.

“There [wasn’t] even a blanket or towel, let alone food or water, for him. He’s a baby!” White wrote later on Facebook

The kind woman was shocked that someone had left him like that. She rushed him back to the sanctuary in Riverview.

The team examined him and began treating him.

The vet revealed that the kitten was battling an upper respiratory infection and flea anemia. He was exhausted after everything he had endured.

The staff cared for him for weeks. They fed him small meals and stayed close while he rested. Little by little, the kitten started feeling better.

The once crying kitten dumped in a box began a new life. He started to play and explore his surroundings.

He nuzzled into his caregivers, asking for the affection he had been denied. Currently, he is still recovering and gaining strength.

Once he is ready, he will start looking for his forever family.

“It was very dangerous, but he lived to tell the tale,” White said. She is confident that this “little stowaway” will have a loving future.

Thanks to the kindness of the team at First Ladies Farm and Sanctuary, the tiny abandoned kitten got a second shot at happiness.
