Are you a dog owner who has a busy work schedule? Then you must’ve wondered “what is my pup doing when I’m not home” at least once.
You know, the dilemmas posed in questions like: Are they sleeping? Playing? Maybe staring out the window like a dramatic movie character? Or… are they doing something that might get a note slipped under your door?
Bianca Lopez, a proud Dachshund owner from New York, sure knows this feeling. But for her, the moment became real when she came home one day and found a bright pink Post-it stuck to her door.
Apparently, Martini, her Doxie, has been doing something unpredictable while her mom was gone, and the neighbor had something to say about it.
“None Of It’s True”

Every dog owner’s fear came to life for Bianca when she read the note about Martini.
According to her neighbor, the Dachshund has been pretty loud and making noise while Bianca was away.
A friendly-but-firm note explained everything, reading: “Hi, your dog barks pretty constantly when you’re gone. Would appreciate your attention to training/finding a solution. Thank you!”

The note alone was enough to make Bianca’s stomach drop. However, she also wanted to rely on the pet cam footage, just to confirm her doubts.
As soon as she saw it, everything became clear. In the video posted on Martini’s official TikTok page, jokingly reading “None of it’s true”, Martini can be seen barking frequently, while sitting on a comfy blanket on the couch.

But as soon as her mom came home, it was as if nothing had happened.
Martini looked like an innocent pup who was unjustly “slandered” by the neighbors, with the look almost saying “Can you blame me?”
The TikTok post went viral within days, racking up thousands of views. In the meantime, people rushed to “defend Martini’s honor” in the comment section.
“He wasn’t even barking. He’s clearly just singing. Some nerve of your neighbors. He’s home alone. Of course, he’s going to have his own lil concert to pass time,” one commenter joked.
“We had a note on our door that said your dog barks when the leaves on the tree move slightly,” another added.
She’s Doing Much Better Now

The good news is that Martini has been doing a lot better since that note.
The New York owner later clarified that the note came from a time when Martini was little more than a baby. She was just three months old back then and was still incompletely trained to be by herself for a few hours.
Now, she’s a big girl.
“The note was left when she was 3 months old and adjusting. She’s a grown girl now. Sure she has a bark slip now and then but she’s a dog- she’s pretty quiet for the most part and the best girl,” Bianca explained.
One thing is for sure: Martini is living her best life today, and is much more confident when left home alone.
