Bringing home a puppy is always an exciting experience, filled with joy and anticipation. The tiny, clumsy bundles of fur grow so quickly, and soon, what started as a little lapdog turns into a larger-than-life companion.
Arielle Garber, from Pennsylvania, knows this better than anyone.
She adopted Milo, a St. Bernard Bernese Mountain Dog mix, as a puppy, not knowing that he would grow into a giant. Now, three years later, Arielle finally understands the warning the farmer gave her about how big Milo would get.
From Puppy To Giant

When Arielle and her family moved into their new home, she wanted to give her kids the joy of having a dog.
Just three days after settling in, Arielle saw a post on Facebook about a litter of puppies available for adoption from a pig farm.
She immediately decided to visit. Upon arriving, one particular puppy caught her eye: a fluffy, playful little dog who would soon become her best friend.
“Three days into owning my home, I saw a post on FB about pups that needed a home… I immediately got in my car and drove over to this pig farm. Saw Milo, and that second, I said I want him,” Arielle shared on Threads.
However, the farmer gave her a warning she didn’t fully understand at the time.
“The pig farmer said to me “you do realize how big he’s going to get right?“ Well I didn’t know I’d have a dog who’s 5’5 on his hind legs and weighs more than me, but here we are,” Arielle added.
The Gentle Giant

Three years later, Milo has surpassed everyone in size. Weighing in at a hefty 150 pounds, he takes up a lot of space, in the house, the car, and even the yard.
Despite his massive size, Milo’s personality has remained as sweet as ever.

He has turned into a gentle lovebug who adores his family. His big heart and goofy charm have made him an integral part of their home, and his hooman siblings absolutely adore him.
“He now officially weighs more than me and doesn’t realize his size, but he’s my best friend,” Arielle said.

Whether he’s cuddling on the couch, greeting his family with giant hugs, or just keeping them company on quiet nights, Milo brings warmth and laughter to every corner of their lives.
Milo’s size may be eye-catching, but it’s his affectionate nature that wins people over.
From the puppy Arielle picked out at the pig farm to the lovable giant he is today, Milo has proven that no matter how big you get, it’s the heart that matters the most.
