But sometimes, life pulls us in different directions. When one woman in Oregon moved out of her parents’ home, she had to leave behind her childhood dog, Stan.
Though she knew she could visit him, the idea of not seeing him every day felt heartbreaking. Luckily, Stan had other plans. His love didn’t fade, and distance didn’t matter.

A TikTok user known as @lexieandunclestan has shared several videos featuring her childhood dog, a Miniature Schnauzer named Stan. One particular video clip recently captured the hearts of millions.
“When you move down the street from your parents house and their dog comes to see you every day…” the video begins.
The footage shows Stan making his regular visits to her new home, trotting happily through the property. Her children absolutely adore him and have even given him the nickname “Uncle Stan.”
“We live on a family farm and get to have lots of adventures. A little rain or snow doesn’t stop him from making these visits,” she wrote.
At the end of the video, she added that “Stan gets lots of play time, treats, snuggles and car rides!”, and that they always make sure to drive him home afterward.
Stan’s loyalty and daily visits perfectly capture the unwavering love dogs hold for their humans.

The woman explained that Stan, now 14 years old, lives with her parents on their family farm, where he spends his days surrounded by open space and familiar faces. He had always loved spending time with her as she was growing up, and once she moved away, he clearly missed her company.
Not long ago, Stan experienced a serious accident that injured his back and left him unable to walk for several months. But after months of recovery, he was strong enough to resume his beloved routine, visiting his favorite person every single day.
“He would take the opportunity to make these visits during the times my parents let him out for potty breaks. He would immediately just dart down the road. My mom sends me texts to look out for Stan when he is on his way. Only family lives on our street, and he travels through the fields/neighbors’ yards to get here,” she said.
Dogs have extraordinary memories when it comes to the people they love. For Stan, the path to his second home was one he could never forget.
The Internet Falls In Love
The story of Uncle Stan quickly spread online, melting hearts across social media. Viewers couldn’t get enough of his devotion and determination.
