Every pet owner should take responsibility for keeping their animal safe and healthy. There are plenty of ways a dog or other pet could end up in danger, and one of the biggest risks is being left inside a car. This is especially true in summer when temperatures inside can soar quickly.
While cars can pose risks for pets, they can also be a source of joy. One resourceful Uber driver proved this when his puppy turned nearly every ride into a delightful surprise.
Two friends from New Jersey experienced it themselves during a 30-minute Uber ride after a concert.
A Ride Filled With Puppy Joy

After attending a Taylor Swift concert, two young women from New Jersey needed transportation to the airport. They requested an Uber to take them there.
When the car pulled up and they climbed inside, the driver greeted them with a question: were they comfortable around animals? Moments later, he handed them a Cockapoo puppy named Richard.
Rebecca Ariz, one of the passengers, was immediately enchanted by the gentle little dog. Richard nestled quietly in her arms, and she couldn’t resist filming the moment to share on TikTok.
“So I got in an Uber. The driver asked if we’re okay with animals. He then handed us Richard.” she wrote in the video.
Rebecca and her friend were so captivated by Richard that they were reluctant to return him at the airport. If adoption had been possible, Rebecca would have gladly taken him home to New Jersey.
Instead, she tipped the driver $20 and gave him a flawless five-star rating, well-earned for the unique experience.
“5 stars. Above and beyond.” Rebecca happily stated in the caption of the video.
TikTok Viewers React
Rebecca posted the video on TikTok, expecting a few reactions. What followed was far more than she anticipated.
Comments poured in, and several stood out.

“puppy gets socialised, driver gets good reviews, customers get dog snuggles. this is a win on every possible level 😭,” one user wrote.
“Good way to always get 5 star reviews,” another added.
And, the third wrote: “Ok but Uber should partner with shelters and have adaptable pets along for the rides!!!”
If Uber ever considers new ways to enhance rider experience, this idea might be worth exploring.
