Pup Scheduled For Euthanasia In Oklahoma Shelter Has The Saddest Look, So A Kind Volunteer Tried To Help Him

There is nothing more horrifying than being a rescuer and knowing that you can’t help a pup who is scheduled for euthanasia.

You can just see the sad look on their faces, like they know what is going to happen next, but they just can’t do anything about it.

The sad reality for a lot of these shelters is that they euthanize pups who are considered ‘unadoptable’ or have spent too long in the shelter, so they can free up space for new dogs to come in.

While it’s a tough problem to discuss, it’s still sad to see something like this happen.

When this woman from Oklahoma saw a pup who was scheduled for euthanasia, she tried her best to delay it and raise awareness about him so he could have a chance.

When Kayla Winrow first saw Courage on a shelter site, she learned he was scheduled to be euthanized that very day, so she went to visit him in hopes of changing the outcome.

She learned that he ended up in a shelter after his owner was arrested, so he had no choice but to go to a shelter.

The other family members were sick and couldn’t support the dog financially. So his fate looked to be sealed until Winrow came to help.

She asked if she could take Courage out for the day, and they agreed. The pup was well-behaved on a leash and seemed to enjoy his time outside.

He looked pretty malnourished, so it was safe to assume that he had been struggling with his former owner.

Winrow decided to take him home for a couple of days in order to give him some proper food and medicine. He was also given a bath and a good meal.

He Just Needed Some Kindness

His mood shifted for a bit and he looked happy just to be taken care of by someone. As time went on, this change wasn’t just temporary.

Courage was really starting to change. He loved playing in the yard, and the prospect of his new life made it all better. He knew that there were people who cared about him.

Not only that, but he was doing better health-wise and his weight had gone up significantly since Winrow took him in.

It doesn’t matter what happens next; we know for sure that he won’t be euthanized, and that Winrow will do her best to help him find a forever home.

Sure, it might take a while, but everyone is optimistic. Now that he has plenty of time, Courage gets to enjoy living in a beautiful home until the right family comes to adopt him.
