Dali, a South Florida rescuer known for sharing emotional dog stories on TikTok, captured Tinker’s despair in a video that quickly spread online.
In the clip, the small dog sat still in her cramped kennel, her back turned to the world, staring at the wall for hours.
“This happens to dogs after they’ve been in the shelter for a really long time. Tinker is giving up hope that anyone will adopt her. She sits facing the wall for hours,” Dali wrote.
Tinker had recently lost the only family she knew. Now, she had no one.
To make matters worse, potential adopters kept passing her by, labeling her “aggressive” due to misunderstood behavior.
In reality, Tinker loved affection. But past trauma made her fearful of being picked up, which she saw as threatening. Sadly, many mistook her fear for hostility.
Despite the challenges, Saving Sage Animal Rescue in Lauderhill, Florida, remained committed to helping Tinker and every dog in their care feel safe and supported.

“Where are you located? Please send information. I would love to adopt her,” one person commented.
“I’ll take her. Where is she,” another wrote.

When she met her potential adopters, her joy was unmistakable. She connected with them instantly, and by the end of the day, she was headed to her new home.
