Dog From Arizona Was Abandoned Twice And His Reaction To Moving Left Everyone Heartbroken

Dogs have an incredible ability to pick up on things that people normally wouldn’t. If something changes in the house, they will notice.

If it’s something that scares them, then they will almost always let you know, whether it’s directly or indirectly. After all, no dog wants to live in fear.

This dog from Arizona is a good example. He noticed something was changing about his home and it frightened him, but he couldn’t pinpoint what exactly.

Then, he learned the truth, and his tragic past made him really scared of it, but his owner wanted to reassure him that everything would be okay. This is their story.

He Was Abandoned Twice

Since Toaster had been abandoned twice in the past, he had developed a trauma about moving because he thinks that his favorite person will leave him.

This is really sad, but it’s the reality for this sweet dog. He doesn’t know that he won’t be abandoned again. It’s all changing too fast for him.

When his owner decided to move, she noticed that Toaster was slowly starting to get anxious. He was noticing the changes in his home, but they continued.

Then, when they finally moved, his fear won out and it was pretty clear that he was suffering from some form of anxiety.

Rejection was the only thing he knew in his life, so his owner tried to comfort him and reassure him that everything will be fine. This is the beginning of a brand new chapter.

She knew that Toaster would not be okay on his own for the next few days, so she decided to stay with him and she called her manager to tell him that she wouldn’t be coming.

Everything Will Be Okay

Even though she was sad that she couldn’t just reassure him that everything would be okay, she was going to stay with him until he felt better about his new home.

She posted the short clip on TikTok where Toaster was feeling anxious to hopefully raise awareness about the abandonment problem in the U.S.

One person commented: “Visibly pack up their things in front of them when you’re in the middle of packing your things as well. I did my cats things little by little and it helped calm their anxiety.

You know, that is actually not a bad idea. This could definitely work and it might alleviate their anxiety a bit until they get used to their new home.

Another person said: “If you’re making more than one trip, bring him with you each time you go.

This is another great idea and it will definitely make the pup calmer if he knows you are right there with him, every step of the way.

Lastly, somebody commented: “He FINALLY gets to move with the family who loves him, he’ll be so stoked once he realizes you’re still there!

Yeah, what this Arizona owner is experiencing now is just the transitional period. It will definitely get better soon, and Toaster will love his new home.

Until that change occurs, his mom will be by his side and will provide him with love and comfort in order to assure him that she’s not going anywhere.
