We’ve all seen how devoted dogs can be. They’ll wait patiently, protect fiercely, and stick by their humans through thick and thin. But sometimes, even the most loyal pup decides to draw the line.
Evie, a comical Jack Russell Greyhound mix, is affectionate and devoted—but she knows when to bow out. Her recent behavior during flooding in Illinois had the internet in stitches.
Caught on a pet cam, Evie was seen calmly minding her own business as water filled the room, seemingly saying, “this one’s not my problem.”
Evie’s Calm Exit From Chaos

Daisy Silva, Evie’s owner, stumbled upon the footage while checking her pet cam for signs of flooding in her Illinois home. What she saw was both unexpected and hilarious.
Evie had clearly noticed something was off. As she entered the waterlogged room, she didn’t panic. Instead, she delivered the smoothest exit imaginable.

She gave the water a cautious sniff, decided it wasn’t her concern, and promptly turned around and left.
During her retreat, Evie made sure to avoid stepping in the water. She climbed the stairs with precision, staying dry while leaving the mess behind.
“Our dog said y’all can deal with this one,” wrote Daisy in the video.
Daisy uploaded the footage to TikTok, and it quickly went viral. Her post drew thousands of reactions, with viewers cracking up over Evie’s dramatic exit.
One commenter wrote: “The way he’s walking! I spat my food!!!”
“Dog said ‘I don’t get paid enough treats to deal with this,’” another person joked.
“Not him walking like he’s grossed out by the water,” added a third user.
More Than Just A Funny Moment

Evie joined Daisy’s family when she was just five weeks old, after being found abandoned with her littermates. Despite her comedic timing, she’s anything but aloof.
She’s deeply bonded with Daisy’s daughter and other children in the family, often acting like a gentle nanny.
“She’s a Jack Russell Greyhound mix and has the most gentle touch for kids. She has a ton of cousins to play with, and loves to play fetch with her sister,” wrote Daisy in another TikTok.

Evie’s biggest fear isn’t water, it’s being apart from her family. She struggles with separation anxiety when her parents are away at work.
“Because of her trauma, she struggles with separation anxiety. Sometimes she doesn’t eat while mom and dad are at work but she loves food,” added Daisy.
Fortunately, Evie is rarely alone for long. Surrounded by love and attention, she’s cherished beyond measure.
“She’s healthy, strong, spoiled, beautiful, and loved,” the Illinois owner concluded.
