Oklahoma Woman Faces A Midnight Mystery After Strange Visitor Enters Their Home

A resident of Bixby, Oklahoma, was enjoying a deep sleep when a sudden, unusual noise jolted her awake in the middle of the night. At first, Bonnie Moriarty assumed that her dog and cat were involved in a minor scuffle.

She never could have imagined that a mysterious intruder had found its way into her home and was making its way toward her bedroom.

Moments later, she was confronted with a startling sight. Her cat dashed into the bedroom, accompanied by an animal that was definitely not her dog.

“I woke up and the cat and the coyote came running into my room. It was still dark,” Moriarty recalled.

She screamed at the top of her lungs, unable to believe what she was seeing. Quickly, she turned on the lights, and that’s when she noticed the coyote crouched low in the corner of the room.

Hearing their mom’s panicked screams, Moriarty’s dog bolted to the bedroom and began barking furiously at the unexpected visitor.

The coyote froze in place, appearing timid and unsure of what to do next.

At that moment, Moriarty’s husband was out of town, and their children were sleeping upstairs. Upon hearing the commotion, the kids got out of bed and cautiously made their way downstairs to investigate.

Moriarty concluded that the coyote had likely followed her cat inside the house. Since the back door had not been fully secured, the animal had been able to push it open with ease.

“He somehow just lunged at the door and the door opened,” she said.

Once she regained some composure, Moriarty exited her bedroom and closed the door behind her, leaving the coyote trapped in the corner.

Moriarty immediately contacted the police, who arrived on the scene shortly afterward.

Three officers entered the bedroom with the goal of safely capturing the wild intruder using catcher poles. Carefully, they looped the device around the coyote’s neck, removed him from the house, and released him outside.

Relieved to be free, the coyote quickly scampered back to the nearby woods in Bixby, Oklahoma, returning to its natural habitat.

This encounter was just as shocking for the coyote as it was for the family. Being escorted by law enforcement was certainly not what he anticipated when he initially started chasing the cat.

While coyotes sometimes target pets, it is extremely rare for them to follow animals into a home.

In this case, the coyote appeared to have been carried away by curiosity after spotting Moriarty’s cat. Once inside the house, he became timid and disoriented. We can hope he won’t repeat this mistake in the future.

Thankfully, nobody was injured during this unexpected intrusion.
