California Puppy Left Chained To A Trailer For Days Sees Kindness For The First Time

Every single day brings a new opportunity to save a helpless animal in danger. The most incredible part is, you never know when or where that moment will come.

Seasoned rescuers are well aware of this truth. Through years of experience and teamwork, they’ve learned to react swiftly. So, when Kris, a California rescuer, spotted a little puppy tethered to a residential trailer, she wasted no time.

Within hours, a group of volunteers mobilized, determined to get the frightened pup the help he so desperately needed.

Kris Kelly, the founder of The Kris Kelly Foundation was devastated to learn the small dog had been left tied up for days.

Wanting immediate help, she reached out to Suzette Hall, of Logan’s Legacy, who was nearby on another mission with her colleague, Arturo.

Although Hall had been working on saving chickens that day, she didn’t hesitate. She and Arturo quickly rerouted to the trailer.

When they arrived, though, the little pup was nowhere to be seen.

Undeterred, the pair searched the area, hoping for a lead. Eventually, they knocked on the trailer door.

To their surprise, a man answered and claimed the puppy was his. Yet the moment they asked about him, the man casually offered to give him up.

“He wasn’t outside so we decided to knock on the trailer. We were determined to get him. The owner didn’t even hesitate, he said ‘Do you want him,’ and within minutes he was safe in our hands. I couldn’t believe how small he actually was,” Hall wrote in the post.

The puppy, later named Remi, trembled with fear until Hall scooped him into her arms. In that instant, he seemed to relax, as if he finally understood he was safe.

Hall was overjoyed to know Remi’s ordeal was over. Once inside her car, he appeared relieved and ready to begin again.

At the veterinary clinic, doctors found he had a mild case of mange that would need a few days of treatment. Luckily, Hall already knew exactly where he belonged. The Forgotten Dog Foundation stepped in to provide a foster home where he could heal and flourish.

“He is the sweetest. I am so thankful to The Forgotten Dog for taking him into your loving paws. And thank you so much, Kris. This baby is furever safe and gets everything he needs,” Hall concluded.

No longer tied to a trailer, Remi now spends his days surrounded by affection, play, and the comfort he always craved.

When the right family comes along, Remi will be more than ready to begin his forever story. Until then, he is simply enjoying being safe, loved, and free.
