When an adorable Doberman puppy named Kami was adopted, she thought that she found her happy ending, the one she had always dreamed of.
Her owner, who had bought her from a breeder, seemed ready to give her a home.
Sadly, after spending a few days with her owner, Kami’s dream came crashing like a house of cards. Her owner decided to surrender the pup to the Doberman Rescue League, Inc., in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
After briefly experiencing the freedom and warmth of a home, Kami arrived at the rescue, feeling utterly confused.
Hoping For A Second Chance At Love
The staff was mesmerized with Kami. Apart from being a stunning puppy, she had a wonderful personality.
The rescue staff hoped to find her a family who would love her like she deserved, and they announced on Facebook that the pup was up for adoption.
At the time, a Florida couple was searching for a doggy sister to their Doberman, named Axel. Once they came across Kami, she stole their heart and they immediately wanted to welcome her to their family.
They applied to adopt her and brought Axel along for the meet-and-greet. Axel and Kami’s first encounter was truly wonderful.
As soon as they met, the dogs hit it off. They started playing together. Once the family noticed how happy Axel was around the puppy, they knew that they would bring her home.
The couple named her Karmaa and officially adopted her.
Since Axel was the only dog at the time, he needed to get used to sharing his space with his little sister.
However, once he got adjusted, Axel built a strong bond with Karma. He missed her when she wasn’t around.
Loving Her New Life
Karma was thrilled with her new life. Axel was her role model and she looked up to him.
Both were so happy to spend time with each other and they became inseparable.
Axel and Karma enjoy life to the fullest. They love car rides, playing in the park and going to the beach at sunrise.
The neighborhood kids love them and offer them treats when they meet them on their walks.
Karma won hearts on social media, too.
Her dad, Jonathan Palermo, shared her story on Instagram where it quickly garnered massive attention. The viewers were delighted with the pup and the wonderful relationship she had with Axel.
“Such a beautiful pup, she looks very happy. Thank you for saving her best life,” one user wrote.
“Awww … she is adorable, he is a very lucky big brother,” the other added.
The Florida family feels lucky to have found Karma.
“Watching their bond grow has been such a gift. If anything, our only regret is not giving Axel a companion sooner. Having Karma has completed our family and given Axel his best friend,” Palermo said in an interview.
We’re over the moon for Karma. After the initial heartbreak, she found the humans who love her unconditionally and the best doggy brother. Her dream came true.
