Onyx longed for a loving home. Just as he thought his wish had been granted, disappointment arrived, and his world turned upside down.

The two-year-old Onyx arrived at Associated Humane Societies in Newark, New Jersey, after his previous owner surrendered him. Feeling hurt and let down, the pup refused to lose hope in finding a family who would love him.
When a shelter volunteer offered to foster him, life began to improve. Onyx cherished his time at the foster home. He adored outdoor walks, playtime, and most of all, curling up for cuddles with his foster mom.
Both his foster family and shelter friends rooted for Onyx to secure a permanent home. When a New Jersey family decided to adopt him, excitement filled the air.
Onyx was thrilled to meet his new family and said farewell to his foster mom.
But heartbreak came swiftly.
After only seventy-two hours, the adopters returned him to the shelter, claiming they could not manage his energetic spirit.
Kind Hearts Help Onyx Find True Love
Instead of enjoying his new life, Onyx found himself back in a narrow shelter kennel, feeling lonelier than ever. He wondered what he had done wrong.
His foster mom couldn’t take him back due to travel plans, but she visited often and took him on walks, offering comfort and understanding.
The kind woman understood how Onyx felt and knew that he could only be happy if he found a new family.
She posted Onyx’s story on her TikTok account, hoping to attract a family who would give him the love he deserved.
