In case you are a new owner, here’s something that is important to remember: leaving your dog alone in the house will probably not always end well.
If they are alone, there is a big chance that they will cause mischief out of pure boredom or spite because you are not there.
If they have a sibling, then they will make a mess because they want to have fun in their own home. So, no matter what you do, your dogs can be mischievous and there’s nothing you can do about it.
It’s something we have to accept about them… like these Texas owners. They left to work, but only to realize that their pup was loose in the house and on his own. What happened surprised them.
Well, That Was Not Totally Unexpected
It was an ordinary day for Brian Baker and Shayla Baker when they went to work and then realized that their dog was actually loose at their house in Texas.
Usually, he spends a few hours in an enclosed space while they work, so he wouldn’t make a mess in the house, but this time, they forgot to lock him in.
Well, the owners assumed that this was a mistake they would pay dearly for, because their pup, named Maverick, is known as a bit of a bad boy and tends to misbehave.
When Shayla came home, she was expecting most of the house to be in ruins, but that was not the case. Fortunately for her, that was not the case.
But that doesn’t mean that mess was not made. She came inside the house and Maverick realized that she was back.
She inspected the house and realized that he had thrown some toys around the house, which was not all that bad.
Then, she noticed feathers that were all over the first floor, only to realize where the feathers came from. The last thing was a misplaced shampoo bottle. Apparently, he wanted to play with it, so he left it on the top floor.
In the end, the situation could have been a lot worse. I mean, maybe this was a warning shot by Maverick. Who knows what could happen if this situation repeats?

After witnessing the entire situation unfold, the TikTok community had quite a few things to say as this video went viral, but probably not for all the right reasons.
One person commented: “And if you train your dog the correct way, it wont destroy anything while you’re gone.”
That’s true, but it’s also known that even trained dogs can sometimes make a mess if you don’t supervise them all the time.
Another person said: “Crates are unnecessary..seems mostly in the US where it is practiced. our dog never even tried to cause trouble while free roaming while we were gone even as a puppy.”
Well, judging by how Maverick behaved while his owner was gone, it’s possible that she might change this practice, as he didn’t make that big of a mess.
Lastly, somebody commented: “Aww poor baby knew he was bad but had to take advantage of being free for the day.”
Well, I mean, what else was he going to do? This was his one chance, but I have to say, he was pretty well behaved all things considered. Things might change for him soon.
