A sad Frenchie couldn’t do anything but desperately wait for someone to notice him after he was dumped in a crate in a parking lot.
The pup, later named Goober, had a wound on his back and badly needed help.
Luckily, Angela Adan, a dog rescuer and the founder of Deserving Dogs, a non-profit organization in California, happened to arrive at the same parking lot.
The moment she spotted the crate and the heartbroken dog trapped inside, her heart broke.
Once Goober noticed Adan approaching him, he gazed at her with his sweet and tearful eyes, asking for a bit of kindness.
The Help He Was Waiting For
After seeing the devastating condition in which he was left, the rescuer knew that Goober had been abandoned for good.
“You could tell that somebody just shoved him in there and left quickly,” Adan told The Dodo.
Adan couldn’t wait to take him to the vet. She opened the crate so that Goober could finally get out. When she slipped a leash over his neck, Goober didn’t protest. The doggo felt that Adan would help him, so he surrendered to her.
The California rescuer drove Goober to the clinic where he was examined. The vet concluded that his wound had worsened because it was left untreated.
Adan wished she knew who dumped Goober in such a heartbreaking way, but unfortunately, whoever left him made sure to avoid the cameras in the parking lot.
The pup had a microchip, but it wasn’t registered to anyone and no information could be pulled from it.
Goober’s rescuer focused on his healing. She took him home, determined to nurse him back to health.
In the beginning, the pup’s skin was painful and he avoided being touched.
Goober Finds The Love Of His Life
Luckily, thanks to the amazing care he received, Goober started healing both physically and emotionally.
“It took months, but finally he started to heal,” Adan added.
His fur began growing back and he began trusting his rescuer and opening his heart to love.
He gradually revealed his loving personality and showed everyone what a wonderful dog he was.
Adan couldn’t understand that anyone could have abandoned such a wonderful soul.
“He’s such an amazing little dog and I can’t believe someone would let him get into that condition and then just leave him outside like that,” Adan wrote on Instagram.
Once he got a clean bill of health, Goober started pursuing his greatest dream – the dream of having his own family.
Thankfully, his wish came true. He enchanted the heart of a wonderful family who adopted him and promised to make him happy.
Goober was happy to have finally found the love his heart yearned for. He never has to worry about anything. From now on, he will only know happiness and unconditional love.
