California Dogs Who Slept In Broken Furniture After Being Dumped Believed They Would Never Find Love

California Dogs Who Slept In Broken Furniture After Being Dumped Believed They Would Never Find Love

Two dogs, later named Kimber and Pennies, lost their home and found themselves all alone on the California streets.

While roaming around the area in search of food, they arrived at a residential neighborhood. When the pups came across a pile of trash, they decided to stay there. They huddled into an old dresser, trying to find shelter from the elements.

Kimber and Pennies’ hearts were heavy with sadness. They were convinced they would never have a home to call their own.

Neighbors Decide To Help

When the neighbors saw their heartbreaking condition, they knew they had to help them.

“[T]hese babies were so matted, so filthy, and one of them … had patches of skin just gone. No one knew where they came from. No one came looking,” Suzette Hall wrote on Facebook.

The good humans tried to help them, but they quickly realized how terrified the dogs were. They refused to leave the only shelter they had.

The neighbors made sure the dogs had water and food until help arrived.

They called Suzette Hall, the founder of Logan’s Legacy 29 in Irvine, California, who had a lot of experience rescuing skittish dogs.

As soon as the neighbors asked her for help, Hall sprang into action.

Once she reached the location, the rescuer tried to approach Kimber and Pennies.

Safe At Last

The frightened dogs didn’t run away when they saw Hall. Instead, they just froze, letting her know they wouldn’t let her get close to them.

Hall didn’t give up on these broken souls, and she started gaining their trust. The rescuer talked to them, offering words of encouragement.

After she succeeded in corralling them into a nearby yard, she secured them with a leash, collected them, and put them in her car.

While Hall was holding Kimber and Pennies in her arms, their eyes glimmered with hope.

The rescuer was determined to help these dogs live a life they deserve.

“They are not trash. They are worthy. And from this moment forward, their lives will reflect that,” Hall added.

Ready For The Next Chapter In Their Lives

The dogs were taken to the vet where they received a complete medical checkup and underwent the necessary tests.

Unfortunately, the results revealed that both Kimber and Pennies had scabies. Since the scabies is contagious, the dogs had to be separated and isolated from everyone else.

The bonded pair was heartbroken because they had to spend time apart, and so were their caregivers.

“They didn’t ask for any of this …They just want to feel safe, loved and healthy again,” Hall stated.

Fortunately, Pennies and Kimber made a full recovery after undergoing weeks of treatment.

Their reunion melted the hearts of their rescuers. The dogs rushed to each other’s side, wagging their tails furiously and smelling each other.

Kimber and Pennies moved into a loving foster home.

They are doing great and are ready to start looking for a forever family. Their rescuers and caregivers hope to get them adopted together.

I hope that Kimber and Pennies will find their place under the sun and the parents who will cherish them like they always dreamed of.
