Six Helpless Puppies Left In Pennsylvania Dog Park With Nothing But A Note

Taking care of abandoned animals is never simple. Thankfully, there are people and organizations who dedicate themselves to this responsibility, making sure that dogs in need can at least find shelter and safety.

One such organization is the Morrisville Borough Police Department in Pennsylvania.

When the department got a call about six dogs abandoned in a local dog park, officers rushed to the scene right away. What they found was heartbreaking: six pups left behind with only a note to explain their story.

The Note Revealed Their Story

The officers arrived to find a painful sight.

Six young dogs were running loose in the park with no owner in sight and no one stepping forward to claim them. The only clue was a handwritten note left behind, describing how the pups ended up there.

According to the note, the dogs had originally been rescued from an elderly woman who could no longer care for them. She had too many animals and not nearly enough food, so she reluctantly gave them up.

The letter explained that the brown dogs were about a year and a half old, while the fluffier pups were just under a year.

But the rescuer faced their own obstacle. Their apartment had strict rules against pets, which meant they couldn’t keep the dogs. With no other option, they left all six at the dog park.

“The unknown person that brought these dogs to the Morrisville Dog Park attempted to keep them, but was not able to due to their apartment’s rules and they believed that the Morrisville Dog Park was the best solution for these dogs per the letter,” MBPD said in the official statement.

The person believed the park was the safest place, hoping kind people would step in and give the pups new homes.

Thanks to the Morrisville community, three of the dogs were adopted almost immediately by neighbors, while the remaining three were taken in by the Bucks County SPCA in Lahaska, Pennsylvania.

The Investigation Continues

Although the police department is grateful someone rescued the dogs from poor living conditions, they stressed that this was not the right way to help.

Leaving animals in a park without shelter or care puts them in danger. The department urged anyone facing similar challenges to reach out to local shelters or the police instead of abandoning their pets.

“Please surrender your animals to shelters and do not abandon them, even if the intentions are in good faith,” they added in the statement.

For this case, MBPD is hoping to identify and speak with the person who left the dogs. Their concern now is for the other dogs that remain with the original elderly owner.

“Although the Morrisville Borough Police Department does not condone the abandonment of any animals, there is a larger issue in this case that we would like to isolate and make sure these animals are all safe,” the Police Department wrote.

Protecting animals from neglect should always come first, and the officers at Morrisville Borough Police Department remain committed to making sure all of these dogs are safe and cared for.
