Far too many dogs never get the chance to meet potential adopters simply because of their appearance. Sadly, Pit Bulls face this struggle more than most.
One such heartbreaking case comes from Florida, where a Pittie named Yogi has waited more than two years for someone to see beyond his looks. Though he might appear tough, this sweet boy is anything but scary. Still, visitors keep walking past his kennel without giving him a chance.
Yogi longs for love, but for now, he continues to wait for the person who will finally stop for him.
Surrendered Through No Fault Of His Own

Yogi’s previous owner brought him to Humane Society Naples, Florida after moving and no longer being able to care for him.
“….Yogi has been with us for 785 days without ever experiencing a foster home or a break from the shelter,” the rescue wrote on Instagram.
From the day he arrived, Yogi has shown nothing but sweetness and affection. Unfortunately, most people don’t see him that way.

Many visitors glance at his size and strong appearance and keep walking.
“Many people overlook Yogi due to his rough past and intimidating appearance, but he deserves a second chance just as much as any other dog,” the rescue added.
Every day, Yogi waits by the kennel door, watching other dogs leave with their forever families. He has said goodbye to countless friends, hoping his own turn will come soon.
Still Waiting For The Right Person
Behind Yogi’s serious exterior lies a truly loyal and affectionate companion. Caregivers describe him as a devoted pup who would make a wonderful addition to the right family.
“Yogi is desperately looking for the right family who will show him the love, care, and patience he needs. Most of all, Yogi is loyal and forms intense connections with his people,” they shared.
He may seem reserved at first, but once he trusts you, Yogi reveals his gentle, loving side. With patience, he can become the kind of lifelong best friend every dog lover dreams of.

Yogi also has a playful, goofy personality. He thrives on adventures, enjoys long walks, and loves spending time with other dogs.
“Yogi is a true gentleman, loving his busy boxes and treats, and he enjoys rolling around on the back seat floor. He does great on walks in the park. He loves playing with his dog friends too,” the rescue wrote.
For now, Yogi continues to wait in his kennel. But when the right person finally stops for him, he’ll reward them with endless love and loyalty — and bring joy to their lives every single day.
