Suzette Hall, the founder of a California rescue called Logan’s Legacy 29, gets constant calls about stray pups roaming the streets of Southern California, hoping a kind hooman will lend a hand.
Still, one day, she picked up a call that felt different from the rest.
A Good Samaritan told Hall they had found not one but three sweet pups wandering an abandoned property in Compton, and the dogs refused to leave each other’s side.
Rescue Team Sets A Plan

As soon as Hall heard the details, she knew this would be a tough rescue. Catching one frightened pup is hard enough, let alone three at once.
Even so, she understood she needed a solid approach, since she was their only shot.
“It was beyond heartbreaking to see. They are all so tiny,” Hall wrote on Facebook.
The rescue mission hit an unexpected delay for a couple of days because Hall’s van developed mechanical issues.
Thankfully, her friend, Mary Nakiso, stepped in and visited the pups every evening, bringing them nutritious meals to keep them healthy and energized while they waited.

When Hall finally made it to the scene, she was struck by how tightly the dogs clung to each other.
“They were so scared, but they had each other. And boy, do they love each other,” Hall stated.
Hall kept her distance at first, not wanting to spook them by crowding their space. She spoke to them softly, using a gentle voice and reassuring words to let them know they were safe and did not need to worry.
The smallest of the trio was the first to be secured, while Nakiso worked to earn the trust of the middle pup. It did not take long, and soon, two dogs were safe.
“The little girl loved Mary so much, and Mary was able to get her,” Hall wrote.
The tiniest pup, now named Oscar, and his sister, Jolene, waited anxiously in the safety of Hall’s van while the rescuers headed back for their older brother, Ollie.
“The third baby boy was so beyond scared, he kept going into the garage,” she wrote.
Seeing he still did not trust them, Hall and Nakiso decided it was better to give him time to decompress, then took his siblings to Camino Pet Hospital in California.
Second Attempt
Later that same evening, Hall returned to the abandoned property to try again for Ollie, this time with some backup.
She decided the best option was to place a humane trap by the garage where Ollie kept hiding and hope he would wander in on his own.

When she came back in the morning, she was overjoyed to find Ollie calmly waiting in the trap, ready for help at last.
She immediately drove him to the vet hospital, where he reunited with his adorable siblings.
“They were all so scared. So cold, so hungry. But they were finally all safe. They had each other again,” Hall wrote.

After thorough checkups at the hospital, the trio prepared for foster care. Hall’s friend, Genavie Ochoa, offered to take in all three so they would not be separated.
Even though Ollie still struggles to trust hoomans, his sweet siblings are falling in love with house-dog life a little more every day.
Their caregivers are sure they will leave their past behind and embrace the brighter days ahead.
“Ollie is so scared, but the other two are so sweet and love belly rubs. These poor babies went through so much,” Hall told The Dodo.
I am sure that Ollie, Jolene, and Oscar will find a loving forever home where they can finally relax and live the doggo lives they always dreamed about.
For now, the love and attention they receive from their foster is enough to make them feel safe and at home.
“I’m sure they haven’t slept this good in a long time. They are rescued and have each other,” Hall concluded.
