We rarely talk about stories of dogs living with neurological issues.
Even though they may not seem very common, many pups face them, and it is heartbreaking to think about how much harder their lives can be.
Simple things become struggles, and some cannot do them without help from someone who cares for them.
Dogs dealing with these problems deserve all the support they can get. This story follows one pup who caught the attention of a rescuer who noticed something was off right away.
Freddie Faces Many Challenges

When Samantha, the rescuer, first came across Freddie, she was surprised by his sweetness, but something else also stood out.
She saw that he walked oddly, with his head wobbling, and immediately suspected a deeper issue.
Locals explained to her that Freddie had mostly been surviving on the streets of Texas, eating scraps wherever he could and taking shelter in people’s yards when the rain came.
It was a rough life for him, but that was about to change, thanks to Samantha’s decision to help him.

At first, she hadn’t planned on bringing him home because there was no space, but she knew he couldn’t be left like that.
She thought about finding him a foster, but his condition made her feel like she couldn’t wait.
So, she put him in her car and took him home in Texas. Soon after, she brought him to the vet for a full exam.
There, the vet explained that Freddie had Cerebellar Hypoplasia. This meant he was probably born with it, and the part of his brain that controls movement was underdeveloped.
There was no cure, but the good news was it wouldn’t worsen, so he could still enjoy life in his own way.
Freddie Remains A Joyful Pup

Once Samantha spent more time with him, she realized how friendly and gentle he was, though shy at moments.
He loved to play and move around, not letting his condition slow him down.
Freddie also met the other dogs in the home and immediately made friends with all of them.
His cheerful nature lifted everyone’s spirits, and he quickly became loved by the whole group.
He especially enjoyed relaxing on the couch. Since he couldn’t climb up alone, Samantha always gave him a boost to make it easier.

Their favorite moments often included just resting together. Samantha knew he was lucky to be cared for, but also that he deserved a forever family of his own.
His journey was far from finished. Once his vet visits were complete, he would move to Lola’s Lucky Day to search for his permanent home.
While the ending isn’t shared, it’s safe to believe that this lovable pup found his place with a family who adores him.
