I’ve always found it difficult to be away from my dog and cat for a long stretch of time. That’s why I always keep plenty of their photos on my phone.
I’m sure this is something every pet owner can relate to, not just me. And I’m pretty confident our furry pals miss us just as much.
Sometimes, when we’re gone for too long, they can even get upset and act like they’re mad at us for leaving. It might sound unusual, but it’s not unheard of.
That’s exactly what happened to Madelyn, who had been away for a while and came home to something she didn’t expect.
Beneli Refuses To Forgive
When Madelyn got back to Alaska after being gone for a month, Beneli was excited to see her at first, but then quickly remembered she hadn’t been around for quite some time.
Madelyn and Beneli shared a close bond since she saw her friend’s dog nearly every day, making their connection extra special.
But when she had to spend a month visiting her friend in Idaho, that daily routine was put on hold.
Once Beneli realized his best friend had been missing for an entire month, he wasn’t happy and decided to ignore her.
Madelyn filmed a short video where she tried to get his attention, but Beneli refused to respond and wouldn’t even look at her.
Even though he seemed upset at first, dogs can’t hold onto a grudge forever, so before long, he softened up and the two were close again.
Social Media Reacts To His Behavior
Madelyn thought the whole situation was hilarious and uploaded the video of Beneli’s reaction to TikTok, where it quickly gained attention.
People were shocked by how the dog acted and many shared their thoughts in the comments.
One person wrote: “He’s like, can someone please tell her I’m not speaking to her?”
It’s too bad nobody else was around to deliver the message for him, though he made his point by staying silent.
Another person said: “And you can tell he’s doing it on purpose. Lol, dogs are so dramatic.”
Honestly, I didn’t realize dogs could be this dramatic, but examples like this prove me wrong every time.
Lastly, somebody commented: “I love when dogs get mad because you can tell they have to work hard at it.”
That’s the thing about dogs I find so endearing. Even when they get upset, it doesn’t last long. Before you know it, they’re ready for cuddles and play again.

For Madelyn and Beneli, it worked out the same. Even though he was annoyed at first, Beneli quickly forgave her and went back to being her buddy. It’s wonderful to see.
